Punjab Government cancels all remaining PSEB examinations
On Friday the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) decided to call off the remaining class 12th examinations.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, Punjab school education minister, stated that the Punjab government has taken the decision that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, it will be canceling all the remaining examinations of class XII, open school, and many other categories including reappear and golden chance students.
The minister also acknowledged that to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it will be very difficult for the state government to conduct any examinations. The board is going to be calculating the results on the basis of the best performing subjects formula.
For example, if there is any student who has appeared for the examinations in only 3 subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best two performing subjects are going to be awarded in the subjects whose examinations were remaining, explained Mr. Vijay Inder Singla.
The PSEB directed evaluators to speed up the process of checking answer sheets for Class 12 exams earlier this month . Because of the outbreak of Covid-19 and the lockdown that followed, the evaluation process had been temporarily halted in March and was resumed during the last month.
