Nodal Officer of the Education Department’s Public Relations and Publicly Wing declared that no winter holidays will be given this year. The classes will be held for 6 days in a week. For Saturdays, the school will be operational for a half-day.
Officials have said that the Government of Sikkim will resume Schools in the Himalayan State from October 19 onwards. The Schools will be functioning for six days instead of 5 days, with Saturday being operational for half-day.
Bhim Thatal, further said the schools will also be open at the time of Winter holidays and the Current academic session will get over by February 13, 2021.
The next academic session will be commencing two days after i.e. February 15, 2020. The Institution will be following the Standard Operating Procedures issued by the Government and the guidelines of Social Distancing.

Union Education Minister and Health Minister has notified all the state Governments to re-open the schools depending on the number of increasing Covid-19 cases.
The New Academic calendar is prepared by the State Education Department and the Institutes need to ensure a healthy and Non-infected environment. The Administrations also need to convey the same to all the parents before resuming the Classes.
All of the schools’ premises are to be sanitized at intervals and an adequate supply of Hand-Sanitizers is to be stored for safety purposes.
As per the new calendar, the classes of 11 and 12 will be operated as in the month of September. The students will be coming with written permission from their parents/guardians after October 19, 2020 to clear their doubts.
Similarly, the classes are to start from November 2, 2020 for 6th-8th Standard and for 3,4 and 5 Standards classes will be resumed from November 23, 2020 All the classes will be resumed on Voluntary Basis. Here these students are having difficulty with their curriculum, can visit the school and clear their doubts.
The arrangements are done for the safety of both students and the staff to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus.
In the month of March, all the Schools in Sikkim were shut down after the outbreak of COVID-19. However, the Government has partially allowed the schools to function Partially from the month of September 21, 2020, with 50% of teaching staff. Only Students from class 9 to 12 were allowed to visit the schools regarding their curriculums.
