The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, popularly known as the UP Board, could issue digitally signed e-mark sheets to candidates of 2020- a first for the board.
The board is taking this step to ensure that after the results are declared, students do not face any problem. Students will be allowed to take admission in further classes with the online-issued mark sheets. When the pandemic subsides and the situation returns to normal, the board would issue mark sheets offline to students through their respective schools.
“The option of issuing digitally signed mark sheets to the students is being discussed and its feasibility being explored,” said UP Board secretary Neena Srivastava. However, no final decision has been taken in this regard.
The plan is to upload the marks sheets bearing the digital signature of the UP Board secretary as well as photographs of the students concerned on the official website after the results are declared. Students can get access to them after the principals of their respective schools download them.
However, uploading the mark sheets could take some time. Up until now, the results that were available online did not have digital signatures as they were informational in nature. The digitally signed results will be valid for admission as well as work.
This step will also buy the UP board some time to get all the mark sheets and certificates printed in the middle of the pandemic and provide them to the schools for distribution. Earlier, board examinees used to get their official mark sheets and certificates within a fortnight of the declaration of the results.
The results of the UP Board high school and intermediate examinations for 2020 will be declared at 12:30 p.m. on 27 June.
