Tamil Nadu Class 12 Students To Get Audio-Visual Content

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Tamil Nadu has prepared audio-visual content of the curriculum, and all the students promoted to class 12 have been asked to bring the government laptops so as to download the audio-visual content.

Students have been asked to come between July 14 and July 16, the content will be downloaded in their laptops through the high-tech labs available at the schools.

Teachers believe that regular classes are unlikely to take place any time soon and this audio-visual contempt will help the students to prepare for next year's board examinations.

"While these students have been covered under the free laptop scheme of the state government, it may not be possible for students to get the content downloaded from the internet as it requires huge data which comes with a cost. By bringing laptops students can access the content free of cost", said a government school teacher.

Teachers also said that with these AV content, students can start self-study and contact their teachers for any doubts.

SCERT Tamil Nadu Joint Director held a video-conference in this regard, with the school education staff and government teachers on July 11, 2020. SCERT Tamil Nadu has created audio-visual content of class XII textbook and the videos are also available on YouTube.

Whereas students of other classes will have to rely on channels like Kalvi Tholaikatchi for online classes. There are nearly 15,000 class 12 students in the Trichy district. Trichy Chief education officer S Santhi said that students will also get textbooks along with the AV content.
