Telangana: Some Universities to Hold Exams from 20 June
With SSC students being promoted without having taken any examination, the focus has now shifted to the university examinations in Telangana.
Most of the state universities had planned to take a call on the semester examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate courses after the SSC examinations were over. With that out of the way, the universities have decided to review the situation.
“In the standing committee held on June 6, all other guidelines issued by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education were approved. However, as far as the undergraduate/PG exams are concerned, we have decided not to conduct any exams in June and review the situation,” said professor Sriram Venkatesh, controller of examinations, Osmania University.
However, some private and autonomous institutions in the state have decided to hold the semester examination from 20 June.
Some colleges have decided to hold examinations online. For this, they have issued detailed guidelines to the students.
Following this, the Telangana unit of National Students Union of India filed a petition in Telangana High Court on Tuesday challenging the decision to hold examinations from 20 June.
