Telangana to postpone Class 10 examinations across the state following orders from HC

On Saturday, the Telangana government declared the remaining Secondary School Certificate (Class 10) public examinations scheduled to commence on Monday are now to be postponed. 

Upon receiving a judgment from the state high court in response to a petition for the same, chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao took the said decision. 
This action was taken in order to prevent further transmission of Covid-19 by avoiding a social gathering such as offline examinations. 

All the other examinations except for the ones that took place before the lockdown have since been postponed. The state high court had urged the state government to conduct Class 10 exams as per the previously set schedule in all areas of the state except for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits which had been zones reporting more than usual Covid-19 cases.

Various sources have suggested that the chief minister felt that it would be chaotic and confusing to not conduct exams simultaneously across the state. 
A special hearing was conducted by a division bench of the state high court to address the public interest litigation petition filed by Balakrishna, an academic who expresses issues with how the examinations are conducted during the pandemic phase.
