Online UG Admission in General Degree Courses for the Colleges under CAP for the academic year 2025-2026 in standalone mode.

The physical verification schedule for the second phase of undergraduate admissions under the West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WB CAP) 2025 has been revised. The verification process for admitted candidates will now take place on October 9 and 10, 2025, at the respective colleges and universities. It is advised that the entire process of admission at the UG level should be completed positively by 7th November 2025.
In the first phase, completed by Sept 9, 4,02,557 seats were allotted to 3,09,667 candidates, and 2,30,704 took admission. The portal was reopened for fresh applications. However, there were only 8,983 fresh registrations, while the total applications were 4.2 lakh. In the second phase, only 39,073 candidates took admission
The physical verification of the second phase was supposed to be completed this week, but due to the higher education department declaring early holidays, the scheduled two days of physical verification will be held after the puja break, a source at the higher education department said. An official said, "This number can slightly change because the two days of physical verification couldn't be held due to the adverse weather."
WB CAP 2025 UG Admission: Guidelines for Online Process
The process will be strictly merit-based, and students will not be called for counselling or physical verification during admission. There is no need to be present at colleges at this stage. Students will not be charged for scanning or uploading documents online. Similarly, obtaining the admission form for any UG programme is free of cost. All fees must be paid through e-payment or designated banks. Colleges will not accept fees physically.
The merit list of eligible applicants will be shared with the banks, which will verify students during fee payment. All required documents and testimonials must be uploaded online while applying. Verification will take place only when students report to college for classes. If the uploaded documents do not match the declarations made in the online form, the admission will be cancelled.
These steps ensure a transparent, fair, and fully online admission process. Students are advised to follow these guidelines carefully to avoid any issues.
Candidates who have been allotted seats in the second phase are advised to visit the official WB CAP website at wbcap.in for detailed information.
