WBBSE Board Result 2020 (Announced): Revaluation, Marksheet and Pass Percentage

West Bengal Board Latest Updates

• August 14, 2020: West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling(WBCROS) have extended the date for Madhyamik Pariksha June 2020. 
• August 11, 2020: Candidates who have passed madhyamik exam from boards other than WBBSE can apply for admission till August 20, 2020.
• August 10, 2020: Candidates of a recognized H.S institution may be admitted to another with the same subjects by September 30, 2020. 
• July 15, 2020: West Bengal Board Madhyamik Result Declared.

WBBSE has declared class 12^th Results on July 17, 2020, on the official website. Candidates can access the result by entering the board roll number mentioned in the admit card and date of birth. The results have been made available on the official website of West Bengal board. The results for the senior secondary examination have been declared on July 15, 2020. The board cancelled all pending examinations and decided to allow the marks for such subjects on the basis of the exams conducted earlier. The exams were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic followed by the nationwide lockdown. 

• As per the latest update of WBBSE, only guardians will be allowed to visit the office for submitting the application for scrutiny of answer sheets for class 10 board exams. The last date to apply for scrutiny is August 17, 2020. 

• The WBBSE will distribute mark sheets of the Madyamik Pariksha (Class 10) on July 22 and July 24, 2020. The Board had earlier announced the mark sheets will be distributed on July 22 and 23. But one date has been changed after the state gov. decided to impose the lockdown in the entire state on July 23 and July 25, 2020.

• A total of 30,220 students have secured more than 90% marks in WBBSE class 12^th examination. Unlike the previous year, this year also the boys outperformed girls. The pass percentage of boys is 90.44% while the passing percentage for girls is 90%.

• The overall pass percentage for WBBSE class 12^th is recorded at 90.13%. Science Stream recorded the highest percentage of 98.83%. Following which the Commerce stream stood at 92.22% while pass percentage for Humanities Stream recorded at 88.74%.

• Nearly 1015888 candidates have registered for West Bengal Board Senior Secondary Examinations. Over 576000 female candidates appeared in WBBSE class 10 examination 2020.

• WBBSE Class 12 examinations were conducted from March 12, 2020 to March 21, 2020.

WBBSE Result Revaluation

West Bengal Board provides the opportunity to the candidates for claiming the board result. If any candidate is not satisfied with the result then S/he can apply for revaluation or scrutiny of marks. The applications for result revaluation and scrutiny will be accepted till August 17, 2020. In this process, the answer sheet will be examined again and the total marks will be counted. The marks may increase or decrease during the process. In case of any change, the candidates will get an updated mark sheet. Applications for result revaluation shall be made as per the directions of the concerned school. The result for revaluation is likely to be declared by the month of September, 2020.

How to Check WBBSE Results?

The results will be available on the official website. Candidates can check and download the results by entering their board roll number and date of birth. The results for all the streams will be declared together. Candidates can download the results by following the steps mentioned below:

• Visit the official website of WBBSE(for class 10) and WBCHSE(for class 12)

• Click on result link provided on the screen.

• Enter board roll number mentioned in the admit card

• Enter date of birth 

• Click on ‘submit’

• The result will be displayed on the screen

• Download and print the result for future reference

How to Check WBBSE Results through SMS?

If you face poor internet connection or the website is not accessible then the results can be checked through SMS also. Candidates are required to send an SMS as WB10 <space> Board Roll Number to 56070 or 56263. For class 12, send the SMS as WB12 <space> board roll number to 560707. The result will be sent back on the same number through SMS. The result in the SMS will contain the marks secured in each subject and the overall marks and percentage. The candidates are suggested to type the exact format stated above as any different format will not operate.

How to Check WBBSE Results through Mobile Application

Candidates can check and download the result for the senior and higher secondary exam on the West Bengal Board App. The app can be downloaded from the google play store on any android device. The steps to check board result on the mobile app are as follows:

• Open the mobile app

• Tap on ‘10th result 2020’ or ‘12th result 2020’ (whichever is required)

• Choose Server 1(recommended)

• Enter board roll number, registration number and date of birth

• Tap on ‘submit’

• The result will be displayed on the mobile screen

• Download the result.

WBBSE Marksheet

The candidates can download the mark sheet from the official website by entering the required credentials. The downloaded mark sheet will be considered as provisional but it will be valid for further admissions. The candidates are suggested to get the mark sheet attested by school authorities or any gazetted officer of central or state government. The online mark sheet will be valid only after attestation. The original scorecard or mark sheet will be available in the concerned school after 10 days from the date of announcement of results. Candidates can collect the original mark sheet from the school along with other important documents.

WBBSESupplementary Examinations

If any candidates did not pass the examination and have failed in one or two subjects then S/he shall appear in the supplementary examination. The examination is likely to be conducted in the month of August 2020. The schedule for the supplementary examination will be available on the official website after the declaration of all the results. Candidates are required to fill the application form and pay the application fee for the exam through the concerned school. Candidates cannot apply privately for the supplementary examination. 

WBBSE Marking Scheme

Minimum marks required to pass in a subject in the board examination is 34%. However, the candidates have to secure 20% marks in practical also in order to qualify. The minimum aggregate marks required to pass in the board examination is 272. To pass the exam with the first division the candidates are required to secure at least 480 marks. Candidates securing marks above 360 will be under second division category and marks above 272 is third division category. Any candidate securing below 272 will be considered as fail and they have to appear for supplementary examination subject to eligibility criteria further stated by the board.

WBBSE Class 12 Results Previous Year Statistics

In 2019 the overall pass percentage of West Bengal Board was 86.9%. The total number of candidates appeared in the exam was around 7,77,000. The pass percentage of male candidates 87.44% and that of female was around 85.3%. Shobhan Mandal and Rajarshee Burman were at the first rank securing 498 marks. Six candidates secured the second position with 496 marks and five candidates were in the third place with 494 marks. Nearly 140 candidates secured their rank in the top 10 categories. 

WBBSE Class 10 Results Previous Year Statistics

The results for WBBSE Class 10 2019 was historical as it was the first time that a candidate secured more than 99% marks. Sougata Das secured the highest marks and seized the first rank with 99.14%. He secured 694 marks out of 700. Shreyasi Paul and Debasmita Saha were at the second position with 98.71% marks. The overall pass percentage for senior secondary examination was 86.07%.
