When can one appear for CSIR-UGC NET-JRF/CSIR UGC NET-LS exams?

CSIR stands for Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. In India, it provides Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) to those students who qualify the joint CSIR-UGC Joint Entrance Test for Junior Research Fellowship Eligibility for Lectureship (LS) that is National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR.

The student is not allowed to appear for the NE exam until and unless they don’t meet the minimum eligibility criterion.

For the educational qualification:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent degree
  • Integrated BS-MS
  • BS- 4 years
  • BE/B.Tech.
  • BPharma
  • MBBS

The candidate must have one of the following with at least 55% marks in aggregate for General and OBC candidates. A relaxation of 5% is given if you are from SC, ST, and PwD categories.

The candidates who are enrolled for M.Sc. or having completed their 10+2+3 years of the required qualifications, as on their closing date of online submission of their application are also eligible to apply.

B.Sc. (Hons.) or equivalent degree or Integrated MS-PhD holding candidates are also eligible to apply. Thus, a candidate can appear in their Pre-final year under the Results Awaited category.
