As mentioned above, this is the kind of college you should choose with only with the thought of getting a MBBS degree. There's no provision any other way to entertain you. One can play sports in the field which is not at all maintained. Everything apart from Studies and clinics is below standards but that's what you're here for, right.
The college strictly follows the Medical curriculum issued by the MCI. This college was a perfect place to get your MBBS degree in the cheapest way possible however, the fees has been hiked by the college administration (Society for TMC) to over 9 lakh PA since the year 2018. There is no particular focus on research in the course structure but students interested can indulge in Short term Studentship programme by ICMR willingly as i have tried do a research this year in STS. The exams, Labs and Clinical classes are conducted very regularly, in fact much more regular than most of the other prestigious government colleges of India. Attendance rule is very, very strict in the college. One has to has to keep 75% theory and 80% practical attendance unless they don't allow you to sit in the university exam.
It's a medical college so there's no question of Placement here, the college accompanies a running Hospital along with it which one of the biggest hospitals in the city. Once you pass your MBBS from here, you can join directly as a resident doctor in the speciality of your own choice. Internship is compulsory with the 4.5yrs long MBBS course which can be persued in the hospital itself. The college gives a decent stipend of around 15K per month to the interns infact it's much higher than that given in most of the North Indian Medical colleges.
This is the part where my college is lacking way way back than the other medical colleges. There are very limited events that are held here. The main is the college fest named NEURON which goes a week long. It's the only big event occur that occur once in a year. Apart from that, Fresher's program is held, Diwali celebration and Saraswati puja are some of the small events that occur here.
The Fee structure was very affordable at the time when i joined the college. It was 5,13,429 Rs for first year then 4.76 lac for the rest of the years respectively including hostel and food. The fee has been hiked to around 9 lac PA including hostel stay and food since 2018. But it's still the most affordable option as there are no extra hidden charges.
There's no scholarship programme in the college as such. But scholarship from other sources can be availed if you are lucky enough. There's a SBI branch inside the campus which can provide you loan but it's the same as you'll get from any other bank or branch, no special facility.
There's a exact half gender ratio i.e. 50% male and 50% females. Forget about dorm parties, everything is strictly prohibited in hostels, however you can arrange if you have the guts. Few seminar do occur in the academic building in which Guest Faculties come. There are no cultural societies, simply nothing. People are very open minded here, there's no kind of discrimination among students of any kind be it gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or any other. There are no elections in the college among the students so no question of Politics. Economically, the college will just make you get your degree nothing more than that.
The hostel charges are very nominal. They charge 48K for one year which includes both stay and food. Double rooms are allotted to all the students as hostel is compulsory in the college. Hostel rooms are big enough for 2 people. However the condition of Boy's hostel is not at all good. Bathrooms and toilets are not the way you are expecting them to be. They're in need of urgent repair but hey it's India. If you're a girl, you're very lucky as the girl's hostel has been recently built and it's simply lavish with attached bathrooms and balcony. There are PG available nearby the college, at a walking distance if you don't wish to stay in the hostel(you'll still have to pay hostel fee tho). They charge nominal around 3K PA for the rooms.
There's no alumini network of any kind yet. However seniors who have passed out do visit the college and indulge in a casual meeting. Seniors are pretty helpful, but since it's a medical college there are certain norms that must be followed while interacting with seniors in the first year untill the Fresher's. After that everyone's absolutely cool.
I Had a NEET UG 2016 AIR OF 11064, I tried for my state government colleges and other All India government colleges but couldn't make to one due to limited number of seats. Then i started my search for an affordable Private Medical institution, i did a lot of research regarding private colleges all over India for consecutively 7-10 days and then i finally found out about this college in North Eastern state of India- Tripura. It was the cheapest private medical college in whole of the country in which i could a get seat in. I applied for this college and here i am now, approaching the final Professional of MBBS course.
college faculty is pretty much qualified. This being a medical college, all the Doctor's who have specialized in the specific department take the classes. The teacher's are supportive to students, however you can find few teachers everywhere who are not as good as the others but till now i am satisfied by the teaching standards of my college.
The condition of play gound and gym is not up to the mark. College building also have water supply issues.
A Good one. We are proud to be a part of it. In all round performance it's pretty good.
Positives are many good faculties, good seniors,a very nice environment and negative I think may be the quality of food could have been better & also more outside faculties could be brought in our college
The college takes in students purely on the basis of their NEET scores. I scored 508 in neet and got this college in my counseling process. Then I went ahead to seeking details of the admission procedure and got admitted to the college.
We are placed in hospital during the internship on how good knowledge we have on the basis of giving good treatment to the patients. The salary in the beginning is good and as the experience increases we can even open our own clinic or even hospital or work privately too.
Fee structure is very high. Hostel food is not so good. Canteen foods are below average. Computers are not functioning properly. ACs are not working all the time. Free WiFi is not available. Working duty hours are too hectic.
Negetive are few like the hostel food can be a lot better. other wise there are no issues. every year many students Come from other states and many don't even leave the state after getting their degree and join the hospital.
Positive is a student if get chance in this college, their life is a blessing as they don't have to worry for any bread and butter in life. College has a library which serves very good. Negative is that the college authority are corrupted.
College is good in studying, clearing the skills in clinics as well as all other extracurricular activities. But as there is a bit less number of cases of patients come to hospital, there is less exposure to all sort of clinical conditions of patients for practicing.
I got admitted on 2014 by TMC joint entrance. I scored pretty good. My rank was 83 in Tripura State Domicile and I opted for MBBS cause its my dream course. I always wanted to be a Dr.
My father collected application form for the entrance exam from TMC office itself and I appeared the exam and got lucky. The notification is released both in college website www.tmc.nic.in as well as in newspapers. Now selection is through NEET only.
