Anonymous's Review On Army College Of Dental Sciences - [ACDS], Secunderabad

I wanted to do medical since childhood. However, my NEET scores weren't enough to land me into a government medical college. Moreover, we couldn't afford a private medical institution. However, I was given a chance to do dental and I decided to opt for it since it was the best chance that I had at doing something close to what I wanted to do. I've learnt the importance of dentistry through this college and it's good.

My course is a professional course. Its a 5 year course( 1year internship included). Facilities are quiet good. We have regular practicals as our course needs practical practice. Dr.Mamta Kaushik, the Head of Department of Conservative Dentistry and endodontics, she is also our batch mentor, Dr. Abhimanyu Narain from the Department of Prosthodontics are some of the faculties in our college that I look up to.

We can open our own clinc, give NEET PG for a good government college, and continue our furthur studies while working. We can get a monthly stypent of around 50000-60000. It depends. We can also join the armed forces but for joining anything, we need to give NEET PG.

Denta fest is held in our college every year. Different colleges come to our college to participate in various events held during the fest. The events include night soccer, volleball, badminton, table tennis matches etc. Fashion shows, dancing, singing competition are also held.

Our campus is self contained with both boys and girls hostel with separate wardens for each. We have sport facilities (a volley court, basketball court, football court) also we have a gym. We get single rooms, but recently we are facing room shortages in the girls hostel. Hostel stay is compulsory for all. The library is quiet spacious with all kind of medical books we need, also there is wifi in our library and computers are connected. We have well provided lab equipments for all our experiments and preclinical lab procedures.

Hostel is compulsory for our course. Our hostel rooms are both sharing and single. Due to shortage of rooms in girls hostel, some share the rooms. A new building has been recently made for girls hostel with double accomodation rooms. Pgs get single room. Our hostel and mess fees are approximately 70000.
