Honest experience at SBS ahmedabad

The course curriculum of the college is highly industry oriented with a strong emphasis on practical learning alongwith theoretical concepts. The course is vast and is revised according to the current market needs and situations. The curriculum will prepare a student well for the real world problems and decision making. The different clubs and extracurricular activities offered by the college are also an effort to develop different traits of students in accordance with their interests.

The college provides with ample internship opportunities at the end of second semester. All the students get internships of a period of two months. The internships are offered in desired roles in good companies for further growth of students.

Students become eligible for placements from the third semester itself and quite a good amount of students get placed. By the nex of the year almost all students are placed with jobs in good companies. The marketing field invites most jobs and highest packages while other fields have decent placements. I do feel that HR has low packages. Highest package offered is about 14 lakhs, average package is about 7 lakhs. Some companies that have visited campus are mygate, VI, zomato, Deloitte etc.

The college does conduct multiple fests, industry visits and other engaging activities to lighten up the students from daily stress. It offers a wide range of clubs that students can join according to their interests to explore more. As for infrastructure, college has AC classrooms, a well stocked library, medical room, indoor games room, common rooms for group study, several courts for outdoor games and a big garden. Mess is a little small and gets cluttered easily and hostel rooms are equipped with all the basic facilities but are a little conjested.

Hostel rooms are equipped with all the basic facilities, cot with mattress, study table, cupboards, toilet and bathroom and AC for which they charge extra monthly depending on consumption. The three person sharing room is a little conjested. Mess menu is very repetitive and the food quality and taste is decent. One can register for hostel during admission process only by selecting the hostel availment .

I also applied to narayana business school ahmedabad, gave personal interview and got selected as well for MBA plus pgpce course but the fees was quite high so dropped it and shanti business school was offering a good course in much less fees so chose it over the others. The college does conduct its own exam as an entrance test as well as accepts acores of cat and cmat. The other admission criteria included a small live exam and a personal interview.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:10. All the faculty members are experienced, knowledge and helpful. Teaching styles are different but engaging, making it easier for students to grasp concepts. Exam structure is divided in two parts- one part being continuous evaluation including quizzes, presentation and group projects throughout semester and a final evaluation at the end of semester. The difficulty level is average and th course curriculum is highly industry oriented and relevant to current market conditions. Strong emphasis is given to practical learning rather than only working on theoretical concepts.

As part of admission process, college conducts a live personal interview and asks questions based on you general knowledge, current affairs, your bachelor degree knowledge and your previous work experience. The college conducts its own exam as well as accepts scores of cat and cmat as entrance test.

College has the facility of gym, there is a small cafe inside campus, library is good and well stocked. The campus and hostel strictly follows timings of lectures as well as night deadlines. The classes are conducted from9:15 AM to 4:40 PM with a one hour lunch break in between. The breakfast and dinner timings are also rigid. The main campus gate is closed at 10:30 with hostel gates closing at 11PM at night. Also college is quite far away from the city so there are no hangout spots nearby and one has to commute for a good bit to go for a hangout.
