University of Skövde is a non-profit public university offering an array of traditional and unique study programs in several fields. A total of 60 programs are offered by the university. The University of Skövde has a selective admission policy based on students' previous academic record and grades. The university invites applications for spring and autumn sessions. Both the undergraduate and graduate applicants have to apply through the National Swedish University application service portal. Only programs that are taught in English and are available for international students.

University of Skovde Admission Deadlines

International students have two admission rounds to apply for each semester. Applicants from countries outside the EU/EEA are encouraged to apply to the first round for each semester. The deadlines for both Master’s Programs and Bachelor's program are similar.

Admission Requirements

  • All the academic records/transcripts from the previously attended institution(s). Official transcripts that are in a language other than Swedish, English, French, German, Danish, or Norwegian must be translated to one of these six languages.
  • Proof of English proficiency for non-native English speakers.
  • Copy of the first page of the passport.
  • Departmental requirements: In addition to the general admission requirements, some departments may have special requirements.

English Language Proficiency Test Scores

If the applicant does not meet the English requirement with upper secondary or university studies, they need to demonstrate their level of English language proficiency by submitting scores of any of the internationally recognised test given below. These scores are common for both UG and PG applicants:

Note: The proficiency level has to be equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6 for both UG and PG courses.

Visa Process

Citizens of non-EU/EEA/Nordic countries have to apply for a residence permit before to study in Sweden. To apply for a residence permit for studies, the candidate will need to:

  • Pay the initial tuition fee installment
  • Provide supporting documentation including
    • Copies of passport
    • Letter of Admission
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
  • Submit the online application.
  • Pay the application fee of 1000 SEK
  • Visit the embassy or consulate-general
