University of Bristol fees for Indian students range from £5,700 (INR 7.35 Lakhs) to £59,400 (INR 76.64 Lakhs) for postgraduate (PG) taught study. Undergraduate (UG) tuition ranges from £25,500 (INR 32.90 Lakhs) to £49,700 (INR 64.13 Lakhs). Master of Science (MSc) Data Science costs £36,500 (INR 47.10 Lakhs) for the one-year route.

Bristol sits outside London, so Student Visa living proof rises to £1,203 (INR 1.55 Lakhs) per month for applications submitted from 30 November 2026. University accommodation is the cleanest first budget because Bristol publishes 42 and 51-week residence contracts. Private housing should be compared only after checking bills, deposits, lease length, and commute.

  • The standard international tuition deposit is £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) for offer acceptance.
  • The postgraduate taught application fee is £60 (INR 7,742) for eligible taught programmes.
  • Think Big postgraduate awards reach £26,000 (INR 33.55 Lakhs) for one year when the target cycle opens.

The first-year budget for MSc Data Science is £52,270 (INR 67.44 Lakhs), including 12-month visa-benchmark living and one-year visa charges. The fee structure still excludes flights, Indian loan charges, and private-rental deposits. Exchange rate used: £1 = INR 129.03 on 11 September 2026.

September 2027 Intake: Scholarship Deadline Pressure

Intake: September 2027 is the realistic route for UG and PG applicants needing a Student Visa. September 2028 is the next cycle, because Bristol lists September starts for these featured courses.

Fee update: Use 2026/27 rates until Bristol publishes 2027/28. PG runs from £5,700 (INR 7.35 Lakhs) to £59,400 (INR 76.64 Lakhs), and UG runs from £25,500 (INR 32.90 Lakhs) to £49,700 (INR 64.13 Lakhs). September 2028 budgets should use the next published overseas schedule.

When to pay: The international deposit is £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs), with the exact deadline stated in the offer letter.

Scholarships: Chevening for 2027 entry closes on 6 October 2026 at 4:30 pm IST. Commonwealth Master’s applications close on 20 October 2026 at 8:30 pm IST.

Next step: Review University of Bristol admission timelines before fixing a fee budget.

University of Bristol Tuition Fees by Programme

Ten PG routes and five UG routes show how Bristol prices by subject, campus, and professional training. Finance and computing sit above social-science master’s routes, while Medicine is the UG outlier.

University of Bristol Postgraduate Fees: September 2027

Most featured taught master’s programmes are one-year, September-start routes using the 2026/27 overseas fee schedule. Temple Quarter hosts several business and data courses, so housing near either campus affects commute planning.

Tuition is charged annually for these one-year PG programmes.

Programme Duration Published tuition (GBP and INR) Indicative full-course tuition (GBP and INR)
MSc Data Science 1 year full-time £36,500 (INR 47.10 Lakhs) £36,500 (INR 47.10 Lakhs)

Source: University of Bristol overseas postgraduate tuition fees and official programme pages.

  • Data Science and Finance courses share Temple Quarter teaching, so commute costs differ from Clifton-only courses.
  • Economics at £29,400 (INR 37.93 Lakhs) saves £9,600 (INR 12.39 Lakhs) against Finance and Investment.
  • The £60 (INR 7,742) PG application fee is separate from tuition and the £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) deposit.
  • The overseas PG deadline for these 2026 pages was 13 August 2026, so September 2027 deadlines need the new course page.

Note: Bristol’s one-year master’s tuition is not a per-term figure. A £39,000 (INR 50.32 Lakhs) finance fee covers tuition for the full taught year, before living costs and visa charges.

University of Bristol Undergraduate Fees: September 2027

Five UG routes show the ordinary academic range and the Medicine outlier. Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) courses are charged annually.

Tuition is charged annually for these UG programmes.

Programme Duration Published tuition (GBP and INR) Indicative full-course tuition (GBP and INR)
BSc Computer Science 3 years full-time £33,400 (INR 43.10 Lakhs) £100,200 (INR 1.29 Crore)
BEng Civil Engineering 3 years full-time £31,300 (INR 40.39 Lakhs) £93,900 (INR 1.21 Crore)
BSc Economics 3 years full-time £28,200 (INR 36.39 Lakhs) £84,600 (INR 1.09 Crore)
LLB Law 3 years full-time £25,500 (INR 32.90 Lakhs) £76,500 (INR 98.71 Lakhs)
MB ChB Medicine 5 years full-time £45,800 (INR 59.10 Lakhs) £229,000 (INR 2.95 Crore)

  • Undergraduate applications use Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), the UK’s centralised application system.
  • UCAS equal consideration for most 2027 entry courses closes on 13 January 2027 at 11:30 pm IST.
  • Medicine has an earlier UCAS deadline of 15 October 2026, and late visa planning is not sensible.
  • Medicine is excluded from Think Big undergraduate awards, so do not net it against that scholarship.

Full-course tuition uses the current annual fee multiplied by published duration. It is an unchanged-rate comparison, not a future-fee forecast.

University of Bristol Fee Trend by Year

BSc Computer Science rose from £29,000 (INR 37.42 Lakhs) in 2023/24 to £33,400 (INR 43.10 Lakhs) in 2026/27. The largest jump came before 2025/26, so September 2027 budgets should keep a buffer.

Fee year BSc Computer Science tuition (GBP and INR) YoY change
2023/24 £29,000 (INR 37.42 Lakhs) Base year
2024/25 £29,300 (INR 37.81 Lakhs) 1.0%
2025/26 £32,500 (INR 41.93 Lakhs) 10.9%
2026/27 £33,400 (INR 43.10 Lakhs) 2.8%

Source: University of Bristol overseas undergraduate fee schedules.

  • The 2025/26 rise adds £3,200 (INR 4.13 Lakhs) in one year for BSc Computer Science.
  • The 2026/27 rise is smaller, but three-year UG totals still cross INR 1.29 Crore for Computer Science.
  • Use the latest published fee-year until the next official year is released, then rerun totals.

Key Insight: September 2027 UG planning should start with £33,400 (INR 43.10 Lakhs) for BSc Computer Science. The September 2028 route should be recalculated once Bristol publishes the next overseas schedule.

Cost of Living in Bristol for Indian Students

Bristol’s visa living benchmark for September 2027 planning is £1,203 (INR 1.55 Lakhs) per month from 30 November 2026. The university’s residence table then shows how much of that cash is absorbed by rent.

Expense Monthly (Local) Monthly (INR) Annual (INR) Notes for Indian Students
Student Visa living proof, Bristol outside London £1,203 INR 1.55 Lakhs INR 18.63 Lakhs Visa proof is capped at nine months, or £10,827 (INR 13.97 Lakhs).
Print Hall undergraduate residence About £906 INR 1.17 Lakhs INR 11.34 Lakhs Based on a 42-week university residence contract.
Print Hall postgraduate residence About £890 INR 1.15 Lakhs INR 13.77 Lakhs Based on a 51-week postgraduate residence contract.
Marlborough House postgraduate residence About £1,168 INR 1.51 Lakhs INR 18.08 Lakhs This is close to the visa maintenance benchmark.
Avon Point studio residence About £1,346 INR 1.74 Lakhs INR 20.84 Lakhs A studio can exceed the monthly visa benchmark before food.

Source: University of Bristol accommodation costs by residence 2026/27 and GOV.UK Student Visa guidance.

  • Undergraduate contracts commonly run for 42 weeks, while postgraduate contracts commonly run for 51 weeks.
  • Clifton campus courses reduce travel uncertainty when paired with Clifton-area university housing.
  • Temple Quarter courses may suit central housing, but rent claims need a current tenancy quote.
  • No official Bristol private-rent average is used for tuition or visa budgeting.

Note: A £16,150.68 (INR 20.84 Lakhs) studio contract is rent only. Food, local travel, bedding, and deposits still need separate cash.

The September 2027 visa file should show living funds under the post-30 November 2026 rule. For Bristol, that means £10,827 (INR 13.97 Lakhs) for nine months before tuition balance.

Currency Tip: The first major conversion for September 2027 is the £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) deposit. September 2028 should repeat the conversion after the next fee schedule appears.

Total Cost of Studying at University of Bristol

The MSc Data Science first-year budget is £52,270 (INR 67.44 Lakhs) before flights and Indian loan charges. This route is the worked example because it combines high Indian demand with Temple Quarter housing choices.

Scenario Tuition Living Mandatory Fees Total Year 1
MSc Data Science, no scholarship £36,500 (INR 47.10 Lakhs) £14,436 (INR 18.63 Lakhs), 12 months £1,334 (INR 1.72 Lakhs) £52,270 (INR 67.44 Lakhs)
MSc Data Science, Think Big £6,500 award £30,000 (INR 38.71 Lakhs) £14,436 (INR 18.63 Lakhs), 12 months £1,334 (INR 1.72 Lakhs) £45,770 (INR 59.06 Lakhs)
MSc Data Science, Think Big £26,000 award £10,500 (INR 13.55 Lakhs) £14,436 (INR 18.63 Lakhs), 12 months £1,334 (INR 1.72 Lakhs) £26,270 (INR 33.90 Lakhs)

MB ChB Medicine, first academic year £45,800 (INR 59.10 Lakhs) £12,030 (INR 15.52 Lakhs), 10 months £1,334 (INR 1.72 Lakhs) £59,164 (INR 76.34 Lakhs)

Source: University of Bristol fee schedules, accommodation costs, and GOV.UK visa fee guidance.

  • Mandatory fees include the £558 (INR 71,999) Student Visa fee and one year of £776 (INR 1.00 Lakhs) Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
  • The actual IHS is paid upfront for the full visa length, not one academic year.
  • The £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) deposit reduces tuition payable later, so it is not counted twice.
  • Flights, private-rental deposits, laptop costs, and Indian loan processing charges are excluded.

The one-year MSc Data Science budget equals about INR 0.67 Crore before flights. A INR 50 Lakhs education loan costs about INR 65,000 to INR 70,000 per month over 10 years at 10.5%.

Key Insight: A £6,500 (INR 8.39 Lakhs) Think Big award cuts the MSc Data Science first-year budget below INR 60 Lakhs. A top £26,000 (INR 33.55 Lakhs) award changes the funding plan completely.

University of Bristol Scholarships for Indian Students

Chevening is the live deadline for September 2027 funding, while Bristol’s Think Big 2027 deadline is still pending. Bristol’s own awards reduce tuition, but Chevening and Commonwealth can cover broader study costs.

Think Big Undergraduate Scholarships £6,500 (INR 8.39 Lakhs) or £13,000 (INR 16.77 Lakhs) per year Overseas-fee applicants, excluding Medicine and Dental School courses September 2027 deadline pending September 2027

Inlaks, JN Tata, KC Mahindra, and Narotam Sekhsaria cycles were not open for this September 2027 check. They should be added only when the provider opens the target cycle.

Tip for Indian Students: Submit Chevening before 6 October 2026 if a one-year Bristol master’s is the target. Missing that deadline leaves Bristol’s pending Think Big cycle as the main university route.

Funding update: Track Think Big scholarship changes before submitting a Bristol tuition budget.

University of Bristol Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

Bristol’s standard international deposit is £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs), with the final payment date set by the offer letter. The deposit counts against tuition, so families should not add it twice.

Payment item Amount Timing How it affects the visa file
International tuition deposit £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) Offer-letter deadline Supports offer acceptance before Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), the document needed for the Student Visa
PG taught application fee £60 (INR 7,742) Before application submission Separate from tuition and not refundable against tuition
Tuition balance after deposit, MSc Data Science £34,500 (INR 44.52 Lakhs) Student account deadline after enrolment Shown as outstanding tuition in visa financial evidence

Source: University of Bristol tuition deposit, postgraduate application, and pay-your-fees guidance.

Methods of payment

  • Use Bristol’s online payment route when the student account opens.
  • Use bank transfer only when the payment reference is exact.
  • Use education-loan disbursement early because Indian bank releases can take several working days.
  • Use a forex card or controlled remittance route to reduce 2-3% exchange spread.

Steps to pay the tuition fee for international students

  1. Accept the offer and read the deposit line in the offer letter.
  2. Pay the £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) deposit before the stated deadline.
  3. Receive the CAS after Bristol completes its checks.
  4. Pay the balance through the student account or approved bank route.
  5. Keep every receipt for the Student Visa file and loan record.

Note: For September 2027, leave at least five banking days before any deposit deadline. A delayed £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) payment can delay the CAS sequence.

Hidden Costs of Studying at University of Bristol

The first urgent hidden cost is scholarship timing, because Chevening closes on 6 October 2026 at 4:30 pm IST. Missing it can increase the Bristol MSc Data Science cash need by the full £36,500 (INR 47.10 Lakhs) tuition.

  • The Student Visa fee is £558 (INR 71,999) and is paid during the visa application.
  • The Immigration Health Surcharge is £776 (INR 1.00 Lakhs) per year for students.
  • A 16-month master’s visa can trigger about £1,164 (INR 1.50 Lakhs) in IHS.
  • The September 2027 maintenance proof outside London is £10,827 (INR 13.97 Lakhs) for nine months.
  • The £60 (INR 7,742) PG application fee is paid before any offer.
  • Bank spreads of 2-3% can add INR 77,000 on a £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) deposit.

Cash Needed Before Arrival: MSc Data Science

Item Amount Timing
Tuition deposit £2,000 (INR 2.58 Lakhs) Offer acceptance
Student Visa fee £558 (INR 71,999) Visa application
IHS for about 18 months £1,164 (INR 1.50 Lakhs) Visa application
First-month living reserve £1,203 (INR 1.55 Lakhs) Before travel
Minimum paid or reserved cash £4,925 (INR 6.35 Lakhs) Before arrival

Source: University of Bristol tuition deposit guidance and GOV.UK visa-fee guidance.

Budget approximately INR 4.80 Lakhs to INR 6.35 Lakhs for paid or reserved pre-arrival costs. This excludes airfare, laptop purchase, and any private-rental deposit.

Note: Families often miss the IHS because it is paid before travel. For a master’s visa, about £1,164 (INR 1.50 Lakhs) may leave the account with the visa fee.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students

The most urgent saving for September 2027 is Chevening, because it closes before Bristol’s Think Big 2027 deadline appears. A full award can remove the MSc Data Science tuition of £36,500 (INR 47.10 Lakhs).

  • Compare course bands first: MSc Economics saves £9,600 (INR 12.39 Lakhs) against MSc Finance and Investment.
  • Target university housing early because a 51-week studio can reach £16,150.68 (INR 20.84 Lakhs).
  • Use Section 80E for Indian education-loan interest after repayment begins.
  • Work only within Student Visa limits, usually up to 20 hours weekly during term.
  • Plan for the Graduate Route as 18 months for most September 2027 master’s graduates.

The fee structure rewards precise course choice more than broad subject choice. Finance-linked Bristol master’s routes can cost £39,000 (INR 50.32 Lakhs), while Economics is £29,400 (INR 37.93 Lakhs).

Tip for Indian Students: The highest-value Bristol-specific saving is a £26,000 (INR 33.55 Lakhs) Think Big postgraduate award. Until that opens, Chevening is the live September 2027 funding deadline.

Is University of Bristol Worth the Cost for Indian Students

University of Bristol is worth the cost when the one-year PG budget stays near INR 67.44 Lakhs and the course fits Bristol’s recruiter access. The university is ranked 57th globally in Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2027.

Bristol is also 8th in the United Kingdom in QS 2027 and 80th globally in Times Higher Education (THE) 2026. High Fliers Research 2026 places Bristol 6th among universities targeted by top UK recruiters.

The visa return window is tighter for September 2027 graduates. The Graduate Route gives most bachelor’s and master’s graduates 18 months if they apply after 31 December 2026.

An INR 50 Lakhs loan creates an EMI of about INR 65,000 to INR 70,000 monthly over 10 years at 10.5%. That EMI is manageable only when the course leads to strong UK or India salary growth.

Key Insight: The value case is strongest when a £13,000 (INR 16.77 Lakhs) or £26,000 (INR 33.55 Lakhs) award lands. Without funding, Bristol works best for courses with clear employer demand.

Ranking check: Compare University of Bristol rankings with the fee band before choosing a course.

For September 2027, University of Bristol needs a realistic PG budget of £52,270 (INR 67.44 Lakhs) for MSc Data Science before flights and loan charges. A £6,500 (INR 8.39 Lakhs) award brings that below INR 60 Lakhs, while Chevening can change the whole funding plan if submitted by 6 October 2026. A INR 50 Lakhs loan means about INR 65,000 to INR 70,000 EMI each month. Recalculate September 2028 only after Bristol publishes the next overseas fee-year.

Course Curriculum

  • The course curriculum is quite up to date and relevant. The syllabus feels current and well aligned with what is actually happening in the management and business world. Lectures are large-format with around 300 students, but they are followed up with smaller seminars of around 15 students, where the real engagement occurs.
  • That ratio works well because you still get that personal interaction and can ask questions properly. In terms of industrial exposure, the course does a solid job of connecting theory with real-world context.

Fees

  • The total tuition fee for the MSc Management programme is 33,000 GBP for the full programme. It is worth planning your finances carefully in advance, as this is a significant investment.

  • Yes, my academic tenure involved significant research and practical application:
  • Research Experience: For my Master's dissertation, I conducted research on predicting stock trends of dependent companies using change point detection on Yahoo Finance data.
  • Industrial Application: I completed a "Mini Project" forecasting HSBC stock movements using Random Forest and Deep Learning models. Additionally, during my diploma, I worked on a project involving web scraping and sentiment analysis for a property website, achieving over 90% classification accuracy.
  • Capstone Projects: My undergraduate thesis involved developing a secure, blockchain-based voting system integrated with a Node.js frontend and MongoDB database.

  • Course is timeless and relevant for my entrepreneurship career. It was very practical rather than theoretical or academical; it’s a course where you learn by doing, not by reading
  • Yes, I have been the knowledge about entrepreneurship, and I learned great amount of research skills
  • You have hardly 4 to 6 classes in a week; the rest of the time you have for yourself, you can either work for the course or do things you like. But it is effective to use this time for work on course module
  • 30 students were in my class
  • I like how challenging and demanding a course can be. This challenging and demanding part helps students who are part of this course to grow, learn and develop skills for life. The modules in this course are designed in such a way to help you learn and challenge the way you think about business and society. I personally didn’t like the part where the course is only for one year, even though there is lifelong learning of entrepreneurship, and this course is just an introduction and solid foundation to entrepreneurship.
  • Also, I wouldn’t say the course is totally academical yet it is academical which makes it miss a very crucial part of entrepreneurship, which is developing an entrepreneurial (in full) and disruptive mindset (doesn’t give importance at all).
  • In conclusion, It was great learning experience yet it was challenging and intense.

  • In my opinion the course curriculum is not that difficult but depends on the person. It's a mix of both theoretical and practical.
  • The positive thing is that the course curriculum is very frequently updated so they teach you the latest things that are happening in the industry. the negative is that since the course is only one year, you don't get enough time to build rapport with your teachers.
  • There are on average around 3 classes scheduled each day and it usually starts at 11 in the morning. sometimes you have a break in between or lab sessions so the end time depends on that.
  • For my class the average number of students is 60. but some classes we have students from other courses as well so sometimes there might be around 100 students in the lecture hall. In my course there were only 2 Indian students

Fees

  • So the tuition fee was 34200 pounds for a one-year course. you can pay that in one payment or you can pay it in two instalments of 16200 pounds each.
  • for the accommodation i used the university-collaborated accommodation. there are multiple places that you can stay at. for me my rent was around 10000 pounds for one year, which can be paid in one payment or in 3 instalments. You can find the information on all this on the university website; they have mentioned it quite clearly.
  • So monthly expenses would be around 400 to 600 pounds depending on the type of person you are. This is excluding rent. If you rent a room privately, it may cost you around 800 pounds per month (That depends on the location of your home).

  • People in industry-related courses find it easier to get jobs and it is a major advantage if you have related work experience.
  • However, it could be quite difficult depending on the job market these days. You could go without a full-time job for months and even those with full-time jobs are usually in start-ups. It depends on the job market and the above comments are in relation to the year 2024-25.

The course and curriculum were very well-built. The separation of subjects in the first and the second term was carefully selected. The first term included the basics of the subject which helped a lot in the second term as well and also helped as a refresher on the topic we have selected for the thesis. This gave us some idea of how to write the thesis and what to include. It was also accompanied by a feedback from the professors. We were also given classes on the skills required for research and in the end we had to give a research review report of 10000 words. For the thesis, there were some options for research experience as a part of the industry, but there were not many in my opinion though, I was lucky to get the industrial exposure where I got the chance to do my thesis with a company for 3 months. But only 4 people were selected out of 150 people which means that a lot of competition is there in this area.
