Ques. What is BHMCT and what career does it lead to?
Ans. BHMCT (Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology) is a 4-year undergraduate professional degree that trains students in hotel operations, food production, food and beverage service, front office management, and housekeeping. Graduates from HRIT University’s BHMCT programme can pursue careers in 5-star hotels, resorts, airline catering units, restaurant chains, cruise lines, and event management companies. Many graduates also move into entrepreneurship in the food and beverage industry.
Ques. What are the entrance exam requirements for BHMCT at HRIT University?
Ans. HRIT University accepts CUET-UG 2026 and HRIT HNAT scores for BHMCT admission. The CUET-UG 2026 exam was conducted from May 11 to May 31, 2026, with results declared on June 14, 2026. Students who did not appear in CUET-UG may apply directly through the HRIT University admission portal at hrituniversity.edu.in based on Class 12 board merit. The last date to apply is September 10, 2026.
Ques. What is the total fee for BHMCT at HRIT University?
Ans. The total 4-year fee for BHMCT at HRIT University is INR 3,23,200 (INR 80,800 per year). UP domicile students from SC, ST, OBC, and EBC categories may apply for the UP Government Post-Matric Scholarship through scholarship.up.gov.in. HRIT’s own merit scholarship is also available to students with 60% and above in Class 12. Hostel charges are separate and are not included in the total fee.
Ques. How is BHMCT different from B.Sc Hotel and Hospitality Administration at HRIT?
Ans. BHMCT is a 4-year professional degree with total fees of INR 3,23,200 and covers hotel operations, catering technology, and management in greater depth, including a compulsory industrial training component. B.Sc Hospitality is a 3-year science degree with total fees of INR 1,50,000, covering hospitality administration with less emphasis on catering technology. For careers in premium hotel management and catering, BHMCT is generally more recognised by the industry.
Ques. Are internships and industrial training part of the BHMCT programme at HRIT?
Ans. Yes, the BHMCT programme at HRIT University includes mandatory industrial training as a part of the curriculum. Students undertake on-the-job training in hotels, restaurants, and catering establishments during the programme, gaining practical exposure to kitchen operations, front desk management, food and beverage service, and housekeeping protocols. This training is supervised by the faculty and forms an evaluated component of the degree.
Ques. When does the BHMCT 2026-27 session begin at HRIT University?
Ans. The BHMCT 2026-27 academic session at HRIT University is expected to begin in September 2026, subject to the completion of admission formalities. The last date to apply on the HRIT University admission portal is September 10, 2026. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis from July 1, 2026. Students who secure admission early will be able to attend orientation and session kickoff activities as scheduled by the Faculty of Hotel Management.
