IIT Guwahati Assam provides courses in B.tech, M.tech, M.A, MS, Research and Postdoctoral courses. They also offer different courses across the M.tech+PH.D and MS+PH.D programs.
IIT Guwahati inaugurated its 2019-20 placement season in December where over 485 out of 561 B.Tech. and B.Des. students got placed under different sectors of the industry. On the other hand, 177 out of 353 registered students got recruited from the M.Tech. and M.Des. program.
Based on the reports, IIT Guwahati has seen its highest package of the season from Microsoft of INR 1.5 crores.
The campus recruitment phase-I for 2019-20 was held between December 1 and December 15, 2019. Over 250 companies had registered, in comparison to 200 companies in the whole last year (2018-19).
Some of the major recruiters are Microsoft, Uber, Goldman Sachs, JPMC, IBM, Nutanix, American Express, Quadeye, Oracle, Bajaj, and Google. The procedure of placement is divided into 10 different steps.

In the 2019-20 placement drive, A total of 250 companies had visited the campus where over 1060 students had registered for recruitment. The Highest CTC offered (overall) was of INR 1.5 Cr. by Microsoft.
The major job profiles that were being offered at the IITG placements were- Analyst, Software Development Engineer, Product Engineer, Systems Engineer, Analog/ Digital Engineer, Engineer Trainee, Systems Engineer.
The institute had also received a total of 20 international offers from Uber, Microsoft, Accenture Japan, BNY Mellon USA and SOU Japan.
A total of 677 students got recruited from different disciplines.

Out of the major companies visited for the recruitment process, Microsoft turned out to be one of the top companies hiring maximum number of students, followed by Oracle.
