NDUAT Admission Dates 2026

Admissions for the 2026-27 academic session are governed by UPCATET (UP Common Agriculture Technology Entrance Test) for most UG and PG programmes. ICAR AIEEA scores are accepted for centrally-funded research seats. Counselling for the 2026-27 batch is currently in progress as of October 2026.

NDUAT Courses and Fees

NDUAT offers over 88 programmes across UG, PG, doctoral, diploma, and certificate levels. The university covers agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fisheries, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, community sciences, and management.

The BVSc and AH programme carries the highest fees at INR 7,24,000 over 5 years, reflecting the infrastructure costs of a full veterinary degree. B.Sc Agriculture and allied sciences programmes are priced competitively as state university offerings. All fees are as per the fee schedule on record for 2025.

NDUAT Admission Process

B.Sc (Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries) and BFSc

Candidates must have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks. Admission is through UPCATET UG (UP state quota) or ICAR AIEEA UG (centrally-funded seats). The selection process involves rank-based counselling, choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification at the respective college.

BVSc and Animal Husbandry

Eligibility requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and a valid NEET UG score. The NEET cutoff for state quota veterinary seats varies by category. UPCATET also accepts a NEET score-based merit for UP state quota seats in BVSc.

B.Tech Programmes

B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering requires 10+2 with PCM and a valid UPCATET UG or JEE Main score. B.Tech in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering admits through JEE Main and UPCATET. Eligibility is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with a minimum 50% aggregate.

M.Sc, M.Tech, MVSc, and MBA

PG admissions require a relevant UG degree with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for reserved categories). UPCATET PG is the primary entrance exam for M.Sc and M.Tech. ICAR AIEEA PG scores are accepted for ICAR-funded research seats. MBA admission considers graduation performance and group discussion or interview rounds.

Ph.D. Admissions

Candidates must hold a relevant PG degree with 60% marks. Admission requires clearing the NDUAT Ph.D. Entrance Test or holding a valid JRF/NET qualification. Seat allocation is college-wise based on available supervisors and research areas.

NDUAT Placements

NDUAT graduates are placed primarily in agri-input and agri-business companies, government agricultural extension agencies, banking institutions with agri portfolios, and the research sector. The median salary as per 2023 placement data stood at INR 7.08 LPA.

Major recruiters across graduate batches include agri-input companies in the seed, fertiliser, and crop protection segments, rural banking institutions such as NABARD-linked cooperatives, and state agricultural departments through direct recruitment examinations. Veterinary graduates typically join state animal husbandry departments, private veterinary clinics, or pursue MVSc and doctoral research. B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) graduates find roles in farm machinery companies and irrigation project agencies.

M.Sc graduates in Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agronomy, and Soil Science frequently sit ICAR examinations for research associate roles or join private seed companies. NDUAT has active linkages with the ICAR research system given its status as a state agricultural university, which facilitates research internship and fellowship placements for doctoral candidates.

NDUAT Rankings

NDUAT is among the recognised state agricultural universities in Uttar Pradesh under the NIRF framework. The university publishes its NIRF data on the official website at nduat.org.

NDUAT Campus and Infrastructure

NDUAT is located at Kumarganj, Ayodhya (Faizabad), Uttar Pradesh, on a 988-acre campus. The campus is self-contained, housing seven constituent colleges, experimental farms, post-harvest technology labs, veterinary clinics, and a central library. Research farms for crop science, horticulture, and forestry trials are integral to the academic infrastructure.

Hostel accommodation is available on campus for both male and female students. Hostel fees are up to INR 13,000 per year. The campus also has a health centre, canteen, and sports facilities. The proximity to Ayodhya city provides access to public transport and commercial infrastructure.

As a residential university campus, NDUAT supports a large base of outstation students across its 88+ programmes. Laboratory infrastructure includes veterinary clinical facilities, fisheries ponds, tissue culture labs, soil science labs, and agri-engineering workshops aligned to B.Tech practical requirements.

NDUAT vs CSAUT Kanpur vs SVPUAT Meerut

NDUAT, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSAUT) Kanpur, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUAT) Meerut are the three prominent state agricultural universities in Uttar Pradesh. All three serve the same UP aspirant pool seeking government agricultural university education.

NDUAT holds the strongest NIRF position among the three UP agricultural universities that participate, placing in the 151 to 200 band. CSAUT, Kanpur, is located in a more urbanised setting in western UP and has strong ties to the Kanpur agri-input industry. SVPUAT, Meerut, is newer and primarily serves the western UP region. NDUAT’s advantage lies in its legacy, research farm infrastructure, and proximity to eastern UP’s agricultural belt.
