Ans. One of my friends chose IIT Goa CSE over IIT Roorkee Metallurgy and he was quite satisfied with his decision. It is surely one of the important and hard choices in your life. In terms of selecting an institute, students must always decide on a branch first and then choose the best institute pertaining to that branch instead of looking for the best college and then thinking about which branch to choose. IIT Goa is a great institute that offers plenty of opportunities to students regarding academics as well as extra-curricular activities, making it the best combination to attain a great student experience. Student Life: IIT Goa conducts many extra-curricular activities, cultural fests and competitions to provide students with a stimulating environment and keep them motivated. Some of these include Smart India Hackathon, Editorial club, dramatics club, Photography club, sports club and many others. Administration: Being a fairly new institution, the administration at IIT Goa is weak and can definitely be improved upon amongst its other excellent facilities. While the system is improving with time, it is currently not up to the mark as it can be. Faculty & Students Interaction The institute has an extremely welcoming environment where professors are incredibly helpful and guide students through any queries that they may have. The juniors and seniors share a comfortable and helpful relationship and IIT Goa is also counted amongst a ragging-free college. While the infrastructure can be better compared to other IIT campuses, IIT Goa is definitely an institute students must consider for admissions considering its excellent facilities, high -quality programs and interesting student life.Read more
Ans. The newer IIT colleges are not a great choice for your education. Mostly the college statistics and placement information are wrong and manipulated. You cannot trust the given placement CTC offered by the institutes. Most IITs lure students by showing the highest placement salary package, but most of the time they are not the correct data. In 2020 there is little scope in the electrical engineering field. Hence, choosing and investing time and money in colleges, which will not provide return must be avoided. However, whichever IIT you choose, what is more, important is your hard work and study. As the college or university itself doesn’t promise and guarantee your good future or better placement.Read more

Ans. IIT is a brand that is more than 60-70 years old and the reputation of IITs for engineering is unmatched. So, it might not be fair to compare IITs with Techno India University as TIU was established in 2002. The expertise, global exposure and hands-on technical training in IITs are unparalleled. If a student gets an opportunity to study in an IIT, be it anywhere, the IIT tag itself is sufficient to get you noticed by the industry professionals. Techno India University may not be as popular as the IITs, but it is a reputed institution under WBUT. Techno India University is notable for its engineering department. Their school of engineering prepares students with theoretical and practical knowledge about the subject and provides industrial training to enhance the skills of the students. Students involve themselves in workshops, seminars, and interdisciplinary research. Techno India University takes admission for B.Tech courses through WBJEE, JEE Mains, Techno Joint Entrance Examination whereas IITs take admission through JEE Advanced. As a result, there is a huge difference in the student crowd at these institutes. Students from Techno India University may get job opportunities similar to an IIT graduate but unlike the former, the latter has a higher percentage of getting a larger salary package offered to them. Not only in engineering but in other fields too. The top companies visiting IIT during their placement program are Microsoft, Qualcomm, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Adobe, Accenture, Samsung, Google, TATA, ONGC, Strategy and Carin, Goldman Sachs, etc. They offer an average salary package of 10-15 lakhs per annum where Companies visiting Techno India University offer an average salary package of 3.5 lakhs per annum.
