RCU Palamu Ph.D Arts and Humanities: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The total fee for the minimum three-year Ph.D. programme is INR 3,81,000, comprising annual tuition and examination fees of INR 1,20,000 per year and one-time charges of INR 21,000 (prospectus INR 1,000, admission INR 10,000, registration INR 10,000) as per the official fee structure.

Ans. Candidates must hold a Master degree in a relevant Arts or Humanities discipline from a recognised university with minimum 55 percent marks (50 percent for SC/ST/OBC/PwD as per UGC norms). UGC-NET or JRF qualified candidates are preferred and may be exempted from the entrance test.

Ans. UGC-NET or JRF qualification is not mandatory, but candidates with UGC-NET scores may be exempted from the university PhD entrance test. JRF holders additionally receive a monthly research fellowship directly from UGC, which is separate from the university admission process.

Ans. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at RCU admits PhD scholars in disciplines including English, Hindi, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Sociology, and allied Humanities subjects, subject to availability of supervisors with expertise in the chosen research area.

Ans. The minimum duration is three years; scholars who require additional time for thesis completion may extend on a year-by-year basis, subject to university regulations and faculty committee approval. Additional tuition and examination fees are payable for each year of extension.
