AU B.Tech (AI & DS) FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between B.Tech AI & Data Science and B.Tech AI & Machine Learning at Apex University?
Ans. Both programmes are offered under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Apex University and share a significant overlap in core subjects such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Python Programming, and Data Analytics. The B.Tech in AI & Data Science places greater emphasis on data engineering, big data technologies, statistical modelling, and data-driven decision-making, while B.Tech in AI & Machine Learning focuses more on ML algorithms, neural networks, computer vision, and robotics. Students interested in careers as Data Scientists, Data Engineers, or Business Analysts may prefer AI & DS, while those targeting roles as ML Engineers or AI Researchers may prefer AIML. Both programmes have strong placement support and industry connections at Apex University.
Ques. Is CUET UG mandatory for admission to B.Tech AI & Data Science at Apex University?
Ans. No, CUET UG is not mandatory. Apex University fills 50% of its B.Tech seats through CUET UG merit and the remaining 50% through AUCET (Apex University Common Entrance Test). Candidates who have not appeared for CUET UG can apply directly through AUCET, which is conducted by the university itself in multiple phases between May and July 2026. JEE Main scores are accepted for scholarship purposes but are not a mandatory admission requirement. This makes Apex University accessible to a wider pool of students.
Ques. What programming languages and tools are taught in the B.Tech AI & Data Science programme?
Ans. The curriculum covers Python (primary language for AI/ML), R Programming, C (in first year), Java (Object Oriented Programming), SQL and Data Analytics using SQL, and web technologies. Key tools and frameworks covered include libraries for Machine Learning and Deep Learning (such as TensorFlow, Keras, and scikit-learn), data visualization tools, and platforms for chatbot development and computer vision. Students also work on real-world projects using these tools during their mini project (Semester 5), project-based internship (Semester 7), and major project (Semester 8).
Ques. What are the placement prospects for B.Tech AI & Data Science graduates from Apex University?
Ans. Apex University's overall placement statistics show a highest package of 38 LPA and an average package of 10 LPA across all programmes. For engineering graduates specifically, top recruiters include companies like iZOOlogic Ltd. (14.4 LPA), CarDekho (5 LPA), Tele Performance (3.72 LPA), and others. AI and Data Science graduates are in high demand across sectors including IT, fintech, healthcare, e-commerce, and manufacturing. The university conducts 700+ placement drives annually and has placed 14,000+ students overall. Students are also encouraged to pursue internships from Semester 7 onwards to strengthen their industry exposure before final placements.
Ques. Can I get a scholarship if I scored 85% in Class 12 and also have a good CUET score?
Ans. Yes, you are eligible for scholarships under both the Merit-Based scheme (12th marks) and the CUET-based scheme. However, a student cannot avail multiple scholarships simultaneously at Apex University, except for the Early Bird Registration (EBR) scholarship which can be combined with one other scheme. In your case, with 85% in Class 12, you would be eligible for a 20% merit scholarship (75%-89.99% slab). If your CUET percentile is between 85-89.99, you would be eligible for a 30% CUET scholarship. You would receive the higher of the two (30% CUET scholarship), and you could additionally claim the 10% EBR scholarship if you register and pay the first instalment by May 31, 2026, giving you a combined 40% scholarship on the tuition fee.
