SKDU Ph.D Sociology: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Yes, it is strictly a full-time, on-campus programme. SKDU does not offer Ph.D. programmes through distance education mode. Candidates already enrolled in any other full-time programme are not eligible. Working professionals who wish to pursue this programme would need to take a leave of absence or obtain an NOC from their employer, and must fulfil all attendance and coursework requirements as per university norms.

No. Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, GATE, or equivalent national-level examinations are exempt from the university entrance test. They can directly appear for the research interview/presentation before the Departmental Research Committee. However, they must still register on the SKDU online admission portal.
