Ques. I have completed my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Can I apply for B.Tech CSE Lateral Entry at The Apollo University?
Ans. Yes, you can apply. The Apollo University's lateral entry eligibility states that candidates must have completed a 3-year engineering diploma in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology from a recognized institute with at least 50% marks. So a Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, ECE, or any other engineering branch makes you eligible for B.Tech CSE lateral entry. However, note that there are only 12 seats available, so competition can be significant.
Ques. Is AP ECET mandatory for admission to B.Tech Lateral Entry at The Apollo University, or can I get direct admission?
Ans. AP ECET is the primary route for convener/government quota seats in Andhra Pradesh engineering colleges including The Apollo University. However, the university also accepts direct applications through its management quota. If you have a valid AP ECET rank, you will go through the APSCHE counselling process for seat allotment. If you are applying under management quota, you can directly apply on the university's admissions portal and get an offer letter based on your diploma marks.
Ques. What will be the total fee I pay for the 3-year B.Tech CSE Lateral Entry programme?
Ans. The total programme fee for the 3-year lateral entry B.Tech CSE is Rs. 8,29,000. This includes a one-time admission fee of Rs. 7,000 and an annual tuition fee of Rs. 2,60,000 plus Rs. 13,000 recurring fee for each of the three years (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year). Hostel charges, if opted, are additional and range from Rs. 1,20,000 to Rs. 1,35,000 per year depending on room type.
Ques. Will I get the same degree as a regular B.Tech CSE student after completing the lateral entry programme?
Ans. Yes. Upon successful completion of the 3-year lateral entry programme, you will be awarded the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering degree by The Apollo University. The degree does not differentiate between lateral entry and regular entry students. You will study the same curriculum from the 2nd year onwards as regular B.Tech CSE students.

It is advisable to confirm the exact scholarship applicable to lateral entry diploma holders directly with the admissions office at the time of joining.
