ABVMU P.B.B.Sc Nursing FAQs

Ques. Who is eligible for P.B.B.Sc Nursing at ABVMU?

Ans. Candidates must hold a GNM diploma from an INC-recognised institution with minimum 50% marks, be registered as a nurse or midwife with any State Nursing Council, and have at least two years of post-registration work experience. English must have been passed in 10+2. Admission is based on CNET 2026 merit rank. The P.B.B.Sc is exclusively for working nurses seeking a degree-level qualification.

Ques. What is the difference between B.Sc Nursing and P.B.B.Sc Nursing?

Ans. B.Sc Nursing is a four-year programme for 10+2 PCB students, while P.B.B.Sc Nursing is a two-year post-basic degree exclusively for GNM-registered working nurses. Both programmes use the CNET exam but have separate seat matrices and eligibility criteria. P.B.B.Sc bridges the GNM to degree level, enabling M.Sc Nursing entry and senior hospital positions.

Ques. What are the total fees for P.B.B.Sc Nursing at ABVMU?

Ans. Annual tuition at ABVMU-affiliated government nursing colleges is INR 60,000, making the two-year total INR 1,20,000. Private affiliated colleges charge higher fees per the Fee Regulatory Committee. A seat confirmation deposit of INR 40,000 is paid during counselling and adjusted against tuition at college. SC/ST/OBC UP-domicile students may receive tuition reimbursement through the UP Post Matric Scholarship.

Ques. Can I pursue M.Sc Nursing after P.B.B.Sc Nursing from ABVMU?

Ans. Yes. The INC recognises P.B.B.Sc Nursing as equivalent to B.Sc Nursing for postgraduate nursing admission. After completing the course and accumulating the required work experience, graduates can appear in CNET PG or equivalent state nursing PG entrance exams for specialisations such as Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, or Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing. Confirm M.Sc eligibility conditions with the specific college at the time of applying.

Ques. What career options open up after P.B.B.Sc Nursing from ABVMU?

Ans. P.B.B.Sc graduates gain degree-level status enabling senior staff nurse and nursing officer posts in government hospitals, AIIMS, ESIC, and armed forces medical services. Graduates are eligible for nursing officer recruitment under UPSC and state PSC examinations that require B.Sc Nursing. Teaching posts in nursing schools also become accessible. International nursing in the UK, Canada, and Gulf countries requiring degree-level qualifications is attainable after clearing respective licensing board requirements.
