Appalachian State University Housing

  • There are 20 Residence Halls thus accommodating more than 5600 students. In order to apply for the residence, students should do it by February 1. Residence rates involve electricity, water, maintenance, air conditioning, kitchenettes, etc.
  • Here occupancy is based on bedroom, not by apartment or suites. It has double Occupancy for every Department. Common Bathrooms are shared with floormates while Private Bathroom is accessible to the occupant of the Bedroom. Shared bathrooms are shared by two bedrooms(same gender).
  • Belk Hall, Bowie Hall, Cannon Hall, Gardner Hall, Hoey Hall, Lovell Hall, Coltrane Hall, Cone Hall, Doughton Hall, East Hall, Eggers Halls, and Frank Hall are Double Occupancy halls with Common Bathrooms.
  • Mountaineer Hall and Newland Halls are Double Occupancy Halls with Private bathrooms.
  • Raven Rock and Thunder Hall are Double Occupancies, Single Occupancy, Shared Bathroom, Common Bathroom, Private Bathroom facilities.
  • Living Learning Center and Summit Hall are Double Occupancy Halls with Shared Bathrooms.
  • Off-campus living options are also offered by the USA where a student can reside.

Academic Requirements

  • Students are required to appear for the SAT or for the ACT exam. The minimum eligibility is 500 and 20 respectively.
  • A student from a non-English country is required to have English proficiency. A student can appear either in TOEFL with a minimum score of 78 or in, IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 or in Duolingo with a minimum score of 100.
  • The exam of GRE or GMAT may vary from subject to subject.
