Cedarville University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

Cedarville publishes clear thresholds for Indian applicants across academic records and English proficiency. Applicants studying MBA universities in USA should note that the MBA route also expects a Christian Leader Reference alongside the standard file.

Cedarville University Postgraduate Requirements for Indian Students

  • Academic: A four-year bachelor’s degree with 55% marks or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended); MSN routes require an active RN licence.
  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT overall score of 4 on the 1 to 6 band scale (after 21 January 2026) or 80 on the legacy 0 to 120 scale (prior to 21 January 2026); IELTS 6.5; Duolingo English Test 115.
  • Documents: WES or ECE course-by-course evaluation of the Indian transcript, plus a Christian Leader Reference from a pastor or ministry leader.
  • Financial: Affidavit of support with a bank statement covering one year of study.

Cedarville University Undergraduate Requirements for Indian Students

  • Academic: Class 12 completion with 70% or higher (recommended) is expected for competitive review; nursing shortlists sit closer to 80%.
  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 4 (1 to 6 scale) or 80 (legacy scale), IELTS 6.5, Duolingo 115, SAT 1100 with a 550 Writing sub-score, or ACT composite 22 with English 22.
  • References: Christian Leader Reference from someone who has known the applicant for six months or more.

Key insight: Applicants who complete two years of high school in an English-medium school in India can request an English proficiency waiver, subject to review by the international office.

Cedarville University Acceptance Rate 2027

Cedarville University reports an acceptance rate of 78.8% as per its most recent published admission cycle. The rate has stayed above 70% across the last three cycles, reflecting the university’s holistic mission-aligned review rather than a high-competition filter.

YearAcceptance RateTrend
2024-2578.8%Stable
2023-2476% (estimated)Slightly lower
2022-2372% (estimated)Baseline

[Source: Cedarville University admissions data and Collegedunia listing]

Nursing, pharmacy and engineering tracks sit below the university average because seats are capped. Applicants who clear academic and English minimums usually receive an admission decision within four to six weeks of file completion.

Reality check: A 78.8% headline rate does not translate to a soft nursing filter. Indian nursing applicants still compete for a shortlisted cohort, so target the deadline early rather than late.

Cedarville University Campus, Facilities and Student Life

Cedarville University sits on a 400-acre campus in Cedarville, Ohio, about an hour east of Dayton and 90 minutes west of Columbus. The campus is fully residential for most undergraduates.

  • Location and transport: The campus is rural; a car or the university shuttle to Dayton airport is standard for weekend travel.
  • Housing: Residential accommodation is guaranteed for all four undergraduate years, with monthly rent bands of $ 650 to $ 850.
  • Facilities: The Center for Biblical and Theological Studies, the health sciences complex and the Stevens Student Center anchor daily student life.
  • Indian community: International enrolment is only 2.1% of the student body, so the Indian cohort is small but supported by the Office of International Programs.

What Indian students say: Students describe the campus as tight-knit and mission-focused, with strong faculty access. Weekend food options are limited, so many students travel to Springfield or Dayton for Indian groceries.

Cedarville University Placements and Career Outcomes 2027

Cedarville reports strong professional outcomes for its residential undergraduates, particularly in nursing and pharmacy. Central placement percentages are published each year by Career Services.

  • Overall career outcomes rate: 94% of graduates report employment or graduate school within six months (as per Cedarville Career Services).
  • Nursing licensure pass rate: Above 90% first-time NCLEX pass rate reported by the School of Nursing.
  • Median starting salary: Not centrally disclosed by the institution; sector medians apply for Indian graduates seeking OPT roles.
  • Top hiring sectors: Healthcare, engineering, K-12 education and ministry roles (representative sectors; individual employer lists are not centrally published).
  • Post-study work: 12 months of OPT with a 24-month STEM extension for eligible engineering and computer science graduates.

Insider note: Indian nursing graduates on OPT typically bridge into H-1B or an employer-sponsored green card via a healthcare staffing pathway, since US hospitals actively recruit BSN and MSN holders.

Cedarville University vs Peer Universities

Peers most often compared with Cedarville by Indian applicants are Ohio-based mid-size private schools and value-focused public options in the Midwest and South. The comparison basis below is delivery, admission openness and fee band.

Cedarville stands out on two axes for Indian applicants. First, its residential aid stack of $ 15,000 to $ 25,000 per year materially lowers the sticker price. Second, its 78.8% acceptance rate opens a route for applicants with a solid Class 12 record who do not clear the top-tier US filters.

Key insight: Choose Cedarville over a large public option when small class size and residential campus community matter more than urban internship density.

Cedarville University is a fit for Indian applicants who want a mission-driven residential experience, strong nursing or pharmacy tracks, and predictable aid. Total four-year investment of ₹ 144 lakh sits materially below Ivy or top-100 US peers, and OPT plus STEM extension routes protect graduate ROI when starting salaries settle at market medians. The compact US News regional profile also holds up for F-1 visa credibility.

Cedarville is not the fit for applicants seeking a QS Top 200 brand, a large urban campus, or a broad slate of taught master’s degrees outside nursing and ministry. Applicants after that profile should consider Arizona State University or a Big Ten public school as a comparable alternative.

Cedarville University FAQs

Ques. What English tests does Cedarville University accept from Indian students?

Ans. Cedarville accepts TOEFL iBT at a band of 4 on the new 1 to 6 scale or 80 on the legacy 0 to 120 scale, IELTS at 6.5 overall, and Duolingo English Test at 115. It also accepts SAT scores of 1100 with a 550 Writing sub-score, ACT composite 22 with English 22, or completion of two years in an English-medium school. The waiver route is subject to international office review.

Ques. Can Indian applicants get an English proficiency waiver at Cedarville?

Ans. Yes. Indian applicants who have completed two years or more of high school in an English-medium school in India can request a waiver from the international office. The applicant must submit a signed letter from the school principal confirming the medium of instruction, along with mark sheets. Waivers are not automatic; the office reviews on a case-by-case basis after the file is complete.

Ques. Does Cedarville require GRE or GMAT for its MBA?

Ans. Cedarville’s MBA does not require GRE or GMAT for most applicants. A bachelor’s degree with a competitive GPA is the primary academic filter, alongside the Christian Leader Reference. Applicants with a weaker academic profile may be asked to submit a test score to strengthen the file. Verify current test policy on the university’s graduate admissions page before applying.

Ques. What is the application fee at Cedarville University for Indian applicants?

Ans. Cedarville’s undergraduate application on its own portal is fee-free. Common App submissions may carry a Common App processing charge. Graduate applications may attract a small program-specific fee that varies by school. Indian applicants should confirm the exact figure on the online portal before submission, since fees are not usually waivable for international candidates.

Ques. Are Indian students allowed to work part-time at Cedarville University?

Ans. Yes. Indian students on the F-1 visa can work on-campus for up to 20 hours per week during term and up to 40 hours during official breaks. Cedarville’s Career Services office lists on-campus roles across dining, library, tutoring and research assistantships. Off-campus work outside CPT or OPT windows is not permitted under F-1 rules.

Ques. Which Indian education loan lenders recognise Cedarville University?

Ans. Cedarville University is recognised by most major Indian education loan lenders, including HDFC Credila, Avanse, InCred and public-sector banks that fund US degree programs. Lenders typically fund tuition, room, board and travel up to ₹ 40 lakh on the collateral-free tier and higher amounts with secured collateral. Applicants should share the I-20 and admit letter to trigger disbursement in dollars.

Ques. What documents does an Indian applicant need for the Cedarville visa file?

Ans. The Cedarville I-20 is issued after the applicant submits the admission acceptance, the Affidavit of Financial Support, bank statements covering one year of study, and a copy of the passport biographical page. F-1 visa scheduling at the US consulate requires the I-20, DS-160, SEVIS I-901 fee receipt, admit letter, financial documents and academic transcripts. Plan for a 6 to 8 week gap between admit and visa interview.

Ques. Is transcript verification through WES mandatory for Cedarville admissions?

Ans. Yes for most Indian applicants. Cedarville expects a course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE for undergraduate transfer files and all graduate applications. The evaluation converts Indian percentages and CGPA to a US 4.0 GPA scale for internal review. WES turnaround is 4 to 8 weeks, so applicants should order the evaluation as soon as the final semester mark sheet is issued.

Overview

I choose this college- Christian community Professors who go above and beyond in caring for you as a person I would say that my time at Cedarville has been stretching and enriching. I came in with a lot of insecurities about my critical thinking skills and my place in relationships, but my time here has shown me the impact of patient professors and dedicated work, and I have had opportunities to step way out of my comfort zone and grow in confidence. My friends here love me more than I deserve and they have helped me believe that I can have lasting friendships that challenge me to grow in meaningful ways while having fun. safe environment students think deeply and have strong relationships I wanted a program that was academically rigorous and comparable to secular institutions, as well as the opportunity to build a strong Biblical foundation of thought and discuss what I was learning in psychology from a wide range of perspectives and worldviews. Cedarville provided the freedom for both of those.

Campus Life

9

There are over 100 student organizations on campus, from academic honors orgs to service orgs to nerf war orgs. It provides good variety and community. Orgs generally vary in their required commitment so students can gain exposure to a wide range of experiences. We also have many student government/student body events that allow us to connect outside our regular circle, or bring our regular friends to and have fun there. WiFi is generally reliable. I loved dorm life when I lived on campus. Some people say rules are restrictive but I found that our RAs knew who they could trust and I felt like they always gave me lots of free rein because even if I didn't follow the rules to the T (asked less than 24 hours in advance before bringing an overnight guest, etc.), I was sensible and wouldn't do anything crazy or illegal. Research librarians are helpful and we have great research databases that are accessible online. Ohio Interlibrary Loan is one of my favorite things ever. "
