Lee University is a Private, coed institution, which has a religious affiliation with the Church of God. The University was founded in 1918 and is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Cleveland, Tennessee.

The 2019 fall enrollment at the university was 5,189 students. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Lee University is a Christian school, and each Lee graduate receives a minor in religion with classes of 18 credit hours for each student. 

Lee offers many undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of education, religion, music, arts, sciences, and nursing.

Programs

Lee University offers undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in an accredited, Christ-centered setting. The University’s academic sector is made up of six schools offering a variety of programs under each school. 

  • The university offers 57 majors with over 158 undergraduate programs. 
  • The University's Division of Adult Learning (DAL) offers fully-online and hybrid programs (at the Cleveland campus). 
  • Currently offers six distance undergraduate majors in a total of 28 distance programs of study. 
  • Lee University has recorded 5,386 total students this year, including 3,591 traditional undergraduates and 300 graduate-level students on campus.

Campus

Lee University is widespread over 120 Acres of land, with buildings for residence and athletic facilities. The University's main campus is located in southeastern Tennessee. 

  • The College has maintained its association with the Church of God.
  • Lee University’s academic campus has an overall of six colleges and schools: the School of Music, the School of Religion and the School of Nursing, the College of Arts & Sciences, the Helen DeVos College of Education, and the School of Business. 
  • It has a total of 14 academic departments and 7 graduate areas of study within the Lee University campus.

Residence

Lee University offers a residential facility with a variety of residence halls for male, female, married, and non-traditional students. The students can also opt for Off-campus housing to stay in the US

Students who want to live off-campus must complete an Off-Campus Application and turn it into the Residential Life and Housing office located in the Paul Conn Student Union (PCSU). The deadlines are:

  • Spring: November 01
  • Fall: June 15. 

Lee University provides on-campus residence in the following:

  • Bowdle/O'Bannon and Medlin are the Male Freshman/Sophomore residence halls.
  • Brinsfield Row and B.L. Hicks are the Male Uperclass residence halls.
  • Atkins-Ellis, Sharp/Davis, Tharp, Cross, Nora Chambers, and Simmons are the Female Freshman/Sophomore residence halls.
  • Brinsfield Row, Keeble, Livingston, Livingston East, New Hughes, and Storms are the Female Upperclass residence halls.
  •  The Carroll Court is the residential hall for Family & Non-Traditional students.

Lee University Admission Process

Lee University offers admission to students three times a year: Fall, spring and summer. Also, the university rolls out the admission date round the year, so it is advised to go to their website for regular updates. Lee University has a slightly different set of admission requirements for international students than that of domestic students. The admission process is as follows:

Admission Process:

  1. Completed application form. 
  2. Previous academic work official records and copies, which must be certified by an official of the educational institution
  3. The official language at Lee University is English. A minimum score of 450 (PBT) or 45 (iBT) on the TOEFL test is required for admissions consideration. Official SAT scores from the College Board are also accepted. 
  4. A sponsor’s guarantee form and bank statement, stating sufficient financial resources for two semesters of study including travel expenses. Financial Aid is not available for international students due to this requirement. 
  5. A housing deposit of 200 USD dollars is required to reserve a room on campus.
  6. Form I-20 signed and completed to obtain the F-1 student visa.

EXCELLENT CHRISTIAN SCHOOL WITH PROFESSORS WHO CARE ABOUT YOU AND COURSES WHERE YOU LEARN THE MOST

It had everything I wanted and I knew I was supposed to go there. I was able to get some great scholarships that made it possible for me to go there. Plus it was a Christian college which was what I wanted as well in a school.


Course Curriculum - 

The course curriculum was full of great variety and content. No two courses were the same and they were taught by excellent professors who knew the content well and challenged you with critical thinking questions and essays.
