  • It offers bachelor's degrees in nearly 100 fields of study and graduate degrees in more than 40 disciplines.

  • North Carolina Central University was established in 1910 and opened its gates for students in the late 1930s and 1940s.
  • The urban campus is located strategically about a mile south of downtown Durham, North Carolina and about three miles east of Duke University.
  • The students have access to eleven buildings and three residences. These include the Clyde R. Hoey Administration Building, Alexander Dunn Hall, Annie Day Shepard Hall, and many more.

Academic Requirements:

Requirements for the undergraduate students:

  • English Proficiency: TOEFL (PBT)- 500 or TOEFL (iBT)- 61 or IELTS - 6.0 bands.
  • Standardized test scores: SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 450
  • High school/college GPA of entering students: 3.35 on the scale of 4.0.

Supporting Documents: 1 Letter of recommendation, Statement Of Purpose, a financial statement, Visa/passport, approved affidavit of support, and approved affidavit of support for free room and board

Additional Requirements for the Graduate students:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree
    1. An official copy of a course-by-course evaluated transcript by an accredited US agency
    2. Official GRE or GMAT scores
    3. English Proficiency: TOEFL (PBT)- 550 or TOEFL (iBT)- 79 or IELTS- 6.0

STUDYING AT NORTH CAROLINA UNIVERSITY

The nursing program was amazing and I wanted to attend an HBCU. I wanted to be able to make a difference in the world and North Carolina Central University afforded me the opportunity to. I love my NCCU.


Course Curriculum - 

The course curriculum can be hard but it depends on the professor. I appreciate the challenging professors as I move along college but it can be extremely tough as your going through the class. Wonderful curriculums.
