Full campus, ranking, and outcomes context sits in the Rowan University overview.

Rowan University Application Deadlines for Indian Students
Rowan University runs two international intakes per year, with Fall (September) as the primary intake where the majority of graduate and undergraduate programs open seats. Spring (January) is a smaller secondary intake. International applicants who need an F-1 visa have earlier deadlines than those already on a US visa, since Rowan needs time to issue the I-20 for consular processing. Dates below are drawn from the Rowan international deadlines page.
Rowan University’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (September) — most graduate and undergraduate programs open here. Source: Rowan international deadlines page.
| Intake | Level | App Opens | Deadline | App Fee | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fall 2026 (September start) | UG and PG | Closed | 6 July 2026 (Closed) | USD 45 / USD 65 | Rowan Applicant Portal |
| Spring 2027 (no visa needed) | UG | Open | 2 November 2026 | USD 45 (INR 4,308) | Rowan UG Portal |
| Spring 2027 (no visa needed) | PG | Open | 2 November 2026 | USD 65 (INR 6,223) | Rowan Global Portal |
| Spring 2027 (with-visa) | UG | Open | 4 December 2026 | USD 45 (INR 4,308) | Rowan UG Portal |
| Spring 2027 (with-visa) | PG | Open | 4 December 2026 | USD 65 (INR 6,223) | Rowan Global Portal |
| Fall 2027 (Primary intake) | UG and PG | Publishing after Fall 2026 cycle begins | Not yet published | USD 45 / USD 65 | Rowan Applicant Portal |
Planning note: Indian applicants who need a fresh F-1 should target the with-visa deadline of 4 December 2026 for Spring 2027, since Rowan issues the I-20 only after admission and payment of the enrollment deposit, and the US consulate needs additional weeks for visa slot booking and interview.
Rowan University Eligibility for Indian Students
Rowan uses the same academic thresholds for Indian applicants as for other international applicants, with the standard Indian equivalency table applied at admissions review. English proficiency is evaluated against a fixed test-score list. Rowan does publish a limited waiver for Indian applicants who studied in an English-medium school through Class XII, subject to review.
- UG general entry: Class XII at 65 percent or above from CBSE, ISC, or a State Board.
- UG competitive majors: 70 to 75 percent for Business, Engineering, and CS.
- PG general entry: Four-year Bachelor’s at 60 to 65 percent (US 3.0 GPA equivalent).
- Three-year Bachelor’s: Accepted for many programs when the degree is UGC-recognised.
- Prerequisite courses: Required for STEM master’s (calculus, programming, statistics).
Rowan University English Test Minimums
Rowan accepts multiple English tests and moved from the legacy TOEFL iBT 0 to 120 scale to the new 1 to 6 scale for tests taken on or after 21 January 2026. Both figures below are the institution-wide floor and specific programs may set higher scores.
| Test | Minimum Score |
|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.0 (no band below 5.5 typical) |
| TOEFL iBT (legacy 0 to 120) | 70 |
| TOEFL iBT (new 1 to 6, from 21 Jan 2026) | 4 |
| PTE Academic | 50 |
| Duolingo English Test | 110 |
| Cambridge English | 170 |
| Pearson English Express | 63 |
Rowan IELTS Waiver for Indian Students
Rowan waives its English test requirement for applicants who completed their most recent full-time academic study in an English-medium institution, on a case-by-case basis. Indian applicants from CBSE, ISC, or state boards where English is the medium of instruction can request review by uploading a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from the school along with the Class XII marksheet. Applicants from Indian universities where English is the medium of instruction may also qualify. Rowan’s Office of International Admissions makes the final call, and applicants without an MOI letter should submit a test score.
Rowan University PG Programs and English Scores
Rowan’s postgraduate portfolio spans 48 master’s programs across engineering, computing, business, and health sciences. All international graduate programs share the base tuition of USD 16,632 per year (around INR 15.93 Lakhs), so the course-level differentiator is prerequisite coursework and English score, not fee. A full course-wise fees breakdown lives on the Rowan University fees page.

Rowan University UG Programs and Entry Requirements
Rowan runs about 90 undergraduate majors across its eight colleges, with international UG tuition of USD 28,252 per year (around INR 27.05 Lakhs). Indian Class XII certificates from CBSE, ISC, and state boards are accepted at face value, with SAT or ACT optional under Rowan’s test-optional policy for freshmen. Competitive majors like Nursing and CS review academic profiles more strictly.

Rowan University MBA Admissions
The Rohrer College of Business runs a full-time and a part-time Rohrer MBA at Glassboro and Camden, with international tuition matching the graduate rate of USD 16,632 per year (around INR 15.93 Lakhs). Rowan does not publish separate MBA rounds and reviews international applications on the standard graduate deadline calendar. Indian applicants who need an F-1 should target the with-visa deadline of 4 December 2026 for a January 2027 start.
Rowan MBA Test Score and Experience Policy
The Rohrer MBA is GMAT-optional and will waive the GMAT for applicants with a strong undergraduate GPA (roughly 3.0 or 65 percent+), CA/CFA/CS credentials, or five or more years of professional work experience. Applicants without a waiver typically submit a GMAT score in the 500 to 600 range or a comparable GRE. Two years of full-time work experience is preferred but not required for the standard MBA.
Rowan MBA Interview and Shortlisting
Rowan does not use a mandatory interview for the standard MBA. Applicants with a below-threshold GPA or non-business Bachelor’s may be invited to an admissions interview to discuss quantitative preparation and career fit. Executive MBA applicants are shortlisted based on work experience and undergo an interview with the program director.
Insider note: The Rohrer MBA is one of the few US public MBAs that consistently waives the GMAT for Indian CA and CFA charterholders without a case-by-case appeal, making it a genuinely test-optional pathway rather than a nominal one.
Rowan University PhD Admissions and Funding
Rowan offers eight doctoral programs including PhDs in Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, and Clinical Psychology. PhD applications go through Rowan Global with the same graduate application fee of USD 65 (INR 6,223). Indian applicants should contact a prospective faculty advisor before applying, since PhD admissions are contingent on lab or research group capacity.
Rowan PhD Application Timeline
Most Rowan PhD programs use a Fall (September) start with an internal graduate school priority deadline in mid-January for full funding consideration. Programs continue to review applications until seats fill, and applicants who need an F-1 should submit at least eight to ten weeks before the with-visa deadline to allow time for I-20 processing.
Rowan PhD Funding for Indian Students
Fully-funded Rowan PhD offers typically bundle a tuition waiver plus a graduate assistantship stipend of USD 22,000 to USD 30,000 per year (INR 21.06 to 28.72 Lakhs) for the 2026-27 academic year, contingent on the department. Funding is confirmed in the admission letter, not before. Applicants can review external and department-specific awards on the Rowan funding options for Indian students page.
Rowan University Application Process
Rowan runs undergraduate applications through apply.rowan.edu and graduate applications through apply-global.rowan.edu, both direct university portals rather than a central platform. The process below applies to both levels; only the portal URL and application fee differ.
- Create the applicant account on apply.rowan.edu (UG) or apply-global.rowan.edu (PG) and pick the target intake.
- Complete the application form with personal details, educational history, and program choice.
- Upload transcripts, degree certificate, English test score, passport bio page, and financial-support statement.
- Add two academic recommendation contacts for PG programs (UG requires one counsellor recommendation).
- Submit the Statement of Purpose (500 to 750 words) and CV where the program requires them.
- Pay the application fee of USD 45 (around INR 4,308) for UG or USD 65 (INR 6,223) for PG on the Rowan Applicant Portal.
- Submit the application and track status via the applicant dashboard.
- Respond to any document requests from the Office of International Admissions within the review period.
Rowan University Admission Decisions
Rowan reviews international applications on a rolling basis after the with-visa deadline, with decisions typically released within four to six weeks of a complete application. Offers are conditional until final Class XII or Bachelor’s transcripts and English test scores are on file.
- Offer letter timing: 4 to 6 weeks after a complete file.
- Acceptance response window: 30 days from the date of the admission offer.
- Enrollment deposit: Required before I-20 issuance for F-1 processing.
- Deferral: One-term deferral available on written request before term start.
- Conditional offers: Cleared on submission of final transcripts and English scores.
Rowan University Documents Required
Rowan asks Indian applicants to upload scanned copies at the application stage; certified hard copies of transcripts are needed only after admission and before enrollment. Every document must be in English or accompanied by a certified translation.
- Passport bio-page scan (validity 6 months beyond intended stay).
- Class XII marksheet and passing certificate (for UG and PG applicants).
- Bachelor’s transcripts and provisional or final degree certificate (PG only).
- English proficiency test score report sent directly by the testing service.
- Statement of Purpose (500 to 750 words) explaining program fit and goals.
- Two academic Letters of Recommendation for PG (one counsellor letter for UG).
- Updated CV or resume with work experience and academic projects.
- Financial-support statement showing funds for tuition and living costs.
- Bank statement or scholarship letter as proof of funding for I-20 issuance.
- Work-experience letters (for MBA and Engineering Management applicants).
Before you apply: Indian applicants should request WES or a course-by-course evaluation only if the target program page specifically asks for it, since Rowan’s Office of International Admissions performs its own Indian-transcript evaluation for most graduate programs at no extra cost.
Rowan University Acceptance Rate for Indian Students
Rowan University reports an institutional acceptance rate of 77.4 percent per its most recent published figure, positioning it as an access-oriented US public research university. The rate applies to freshman admissions across all applicants, and the international review pool has a broadly similar acceptance profile for applicants meeting the published academic and English floors. For fuller context on Rowan’s admissions selectivity relative to peers, see the Rowan University ranking band.
Rowan Acceptance Rate for Indian Postgraduate Applicants
Rowan does not publish a separate program-wise acceptance rate for graduate international applicants. Anecdotal Indian-applicant data on Rohrer MBA and MS Computer Science suggests a comparable admit range for applicants who meet the 60 percent Bachelor’s floor and English test minimum. Selective programs like MS Data Science and Biomedical Engineering are tighter due to smaller cohort sizes.
What Rowan University Looks For
Rowan’s holistic review weighs academic transcripts most heavily, followed by English proficiency, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation. Standardised tests like SAT or GRE are optional for most programs. Demonstrated interest in the specific program, prior research or internship experience, and a clear career goal in the SOP move borderline applications into the admit pile.
Insider note: Rowan’s high acceptance rate should not be read as a safety school for weak profiles. Rowan still filters aggressively on English score, prerequisite coursework, and SOP quality for Indian PG applicants, and rejects incomplete applications outright without deferral.
USA F-1 Student Visa Process for Rowan University
Indian students admitted to Rowan University apply for the F-1 non-immigrant student visa. Rowan issues the Form I-20 after admission and payment of the enrollment deposit (USD 100 UG, USD 250 PG). Applicants pay the SEVIS I-901 fee of USD 350 (around INR 33,509), then complete Form DS-160 and pay the MRV visa application fee of USD 185 (around INR 17,712). The visa interview is booked at a US consulate in India, with Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, or Kolkata as options.
At the interview, applicants carry the I-20, admission letter, SEVIS receipt, DS-160 confirmation, valid passport, financial-support documents showing at least one academic year’s total cost, and academic records. F-1 holders can enter the US up to 30 days before the program start date. Post-arrival, students complete SEVIS check-in at Rowan’s Office of International Programs within 15 days of arrival and enroll in a full course load.
2026 update: US consulates in India resumed standard F-1 processing timelines in mid-2026, with visa interview wait times averaging 4 to 8 weeks in most cities. Book your slot as soon as the I-20 arrives, since summer months see the heaviest demand.
Rowan University Admissions Tips and Checklist
The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Rowan University, focusing on the sequencing that reduces last-mile risk for the Spring 2027 with-visa deadline of 4 December 2026.
- Take IELTS or TOEFL by early October 2026 to allow score reporting time before the December deadline.
- Book WES only if the program page explicitly requires it, since Rowan evaluates most Indian transcripts in-house.
- Request academic recommenders by mid-October so LORs arrive before you submit.
- Draft the SOP with a clear "why Rowan and why this program" paragraph, not a generic US-education pitch.
- Submit the application by 15 November 2026 to give the admissions office review buffer before the with-visa cutoff.
- Pay the enrollment deposit within one week of the admission offer to unlock I-20 processing.
- Book the F-1 visa slot the day the I-20 email arrives, since consulate slots fill fast around January intake.
- Arrange sponsor bank statements and loan sanction letters for one year of total cost before the visa interview.
- Register at Rowan’s Office of International Programs within 15 days of US arrival to stay F-1 compliant.
Rowan University’s admissions machinery rewards applicants who submit clean, complete files well before the with-visa cutoff. Spring 2027 remains actionable through 4 December 2026, and Fall 2027 opens the primary intake with fuller program choice once dates publish. Indian applicants who lock the English test, SOP, and financials early will find Rowan a predictable, mid-cost US public option.

- I like the way of teaching by the professors (Classes have advanced teaching systems).
- Cleaniness everywhere in the campus (most at all the times).
- I like the support from international center(they respond very quickly).
Dislikes
- I dont like one thing about the college is, when coming to the jobs, there are more federal jobs available for the citizens than those for International students (Its common in USA as they give first preference to the people who live here).
- The college timings (6:30 PM-9:15 PM in most of the courses that I am having).
- Limited Part time work inside the college (Hard to get for international students).
Scholarship
- No, there are no scholarships available for international students at Rowan University.
- The Rowan University fee structure is equal for both instate/outstate and international students (this is the main reason they will not provide any scholarships for international students).
- No one in my friends receives scholarships from Rowan University.
- I feel Rowan University's fee structure is low as compared to many public universities in the USA.

- Diversity in University. University claims to be one of the diverse universities in the States which I think is one as the nationality of students exceeds from more than 40 countries which makes it one of the good place for international students.
- The Staffs and Professors. Until now my interaction with the staffs and professors have been very nice. Professors are really helpful and helps you understand anything you have problem with very easily and also the staffs working here are super kind and are always ready to provide you with a helping hand when you need one.
- Clubs By far this university has the highest number of clubs ranging from simple club for student to hang out and chill to club that helps student develop and learn new skills that can align with your major. The number of clubs on campus helps you constantly get involved in different activities constantly while helping you learn different new things as well.
Dislikes
- The facility for train station. The university lies on Glassboro which is a small town rather than some big city due to which the facility of nearest train station is almost 17km from university.
- Cost for on campus housing and dining. The cost of housing on campus is really expensive as the cheapest one being around 4800$ for a single semester and also the dining meal plans comes to around 2450$ for the cheapest one and you are only able to have 2 meals daily.
- The policy for students to leave off campus University holds a strong policy for any students under 21 to stay on campus housing and one can leave only if they have someone of their family member staying inside 40mile (64km) radius which applies for both international students as well as students for the US as well.
Scholarship
- I received $19000 on scholarship for a year which managed to take my tuition fee from $25600 to $3300 per semester including international student scholarship of $11000 per year and Browns and Golds scholarship of $8000 per year which is given to students based on their academic performance with $8000 being the most.
- My batchmates also received same amount of international student scholarships but the scholarship for Browns and Golds varied among different batchmates.

Overview
I chose this university as it was a Public university and it had great research opportunities. It was not that expensive as well and had great on campus job opportunities. The college life was great like I got exposure to the American culture and American sports since I was working at the recreational center as a basketball ref, and I made a lot of American friends being an international student, it was a great opportunity for me.
