University of Houston International Admissions

University of Houston has Office of International Admissions and Programs, that assist the applicant with all of the admissions-related questions, including related to immigration as well. International applicants can apply via Texas Application.

Admissions requirements

  • Official secondary school or high-school academic record
  • English proficiency test scores.
  • All test scores should be sent directly to the university.
  • ACT/SAT scores. The test must be officially reported to the University.
  • Financial documents are required for documenting the source of funding.

  • Official bank statements no older than 6 months

Visa requirements for International Students

In order to get an F-1 visa, the student should be accepted by the college. The following steps should be followed by the student applying for F-1 visa:

  • Apply for an I-20 form;
  • Submit the statement of financial responsibility with supporting documents like bank statements and a letter from the bank to prove the financial ability;
  • The college will send the I-20 form via courier service;
  • Pay the $200 SEVIS fee to the Department of Homeland Security;
  • Receive further communication from the college for scheduling an interview for a visa in the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
