Accommodation

The university has hostel facilities available for its students. First year students who enroll at Western Oregon University are expected to live on-campus for a full academic year. Ackerman, Cedar, Heritage and Barnum are some of the main residential halls here.

Scholarship and Financial Aids

International students at Western Oregon University are offered ICSP or International Cultural Service Program scholarships. The scholarship award is based on the student’s academic merit, financial need, and her/his ability to perform cultural service.

  • The ICSP program allows international students to save upto 9000 USD each academic year.
  • Students who receive the ICSP scholarship are expected to provide 80 hours of community service to the state of Oregon.

Work While you Study

The university offers Student employment to those who are willing to make some extra money for themselves while studying at Western Oregon University. WOU provides both on and off - campus programs for deserving students.

On-campus/co-op programs:

  • Students are asked to work at the university library
  • No work-study award needed
  • In the term of employment students can be asked to work in the following areas:

-Administrative Services-Public Services-Technical Services-University Archives

  • Working hours : 8 to 20 hours per week
  • Salary - Oregon minimum wage

Off-campus programs:

The university provides off-campus job opportunities for its students through Wolflink, which is an online service for employers to post jobs.

I chose this particular college because no other college nearby had the program I was looking for at an affordable price. WOU is not too far from my home and has the program that I am interested in and I could afford to attend with financial help.
