SUNO is a four-year public co-educational institution aiming to be one of America’s top institutions of higher learning. The university was founded as a branch unit of Southern University and Agricultural & Mechanical College in Baton Rouge (SUBR).

The Southern University at New Orleans offers various Associate, Bachelor and Master programs for the students. All the academic programs are provided through the College of Education & Human Development, the College of Business Administration, College of Arts and Science, and the School of Social Work.
Some of the popular undergraduate programs are Biology, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work.
The university offers four graduate programs which include Master of Computer Information Systems, Museum Studies, Criminal Justice and Social Work.
The Southern University at New Orleans has two campuses. The main campus of the university is “Park Campus”. It is located at 6400 Press Drive, New Orleans. The second campus is “Lake Campus” which is located at 6801 Press Drive, New Orleans. Both campuses provide various facilities for the students.
Some of the facilities provided by Park Campus are Conference Center, tennis courts, Gymnasium, etc.
Some of the facilities provided by Lake Campus are Housing, Information Technology center, Multipurpose Complex.

SUNO offers apartment-style housing for students that have an option to select from single bedrooms, double bedrooms, and four-bedroom occupancy apartments. The housing fee ranges from 2,265 USD to 4,310 USD per semester.
