New School Student International Student Admissions

The admission process for domestic and international students are both conducted online. However, international students have additional requirements and must be careful with their visa process so as to complete it in time.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • High school transcripts are inclusive of grades from the last three years with a GPA of 3.42 and above.
  • ACT or SAT exam results are not required for the courses if the student has:
    • SAT Code: 2638 , ACT Code: 2854
  • Proof of English proficiency: The New School does not require TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE

Note: The Office of Admissions may require a student to send the English proficiency scores upon reviewing their application.

Visa Process for International Students

  • All the International students have to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa to be able to study at Troy University.
  • For this, the applicant has to obtain Form I-20/DS-2019 from the university. Applicants will need to provide the following documents to receive the Form I-20/DS-2019:
    • Copy of valid passport
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Sponsor letter
  • After obtaining the Form I-20 from the university, the applicant needs to complete the I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
