The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) starts its admission process in the fall season. In 2018, the university received total applicants of 97899 for undergraduate admissions out of which only, 29,899 got admission.
According to the U.S. News and World Report, UC San Diego ranked #17 best university in the world and the nation’s #5 best public university in 2018 for research.
The University of California, San Diego offfers 130+ undergraduate programs in almost all subjects. The university has 6 colleges. The candidates cannot choose the colleges. The university assigns the college. However, the candidates are asked to rank the college of their preference.

International applicants must meet the same freshman or transfer requirements for admission as any other applicant. The deadlines for receiving the documents are July 1 for transcripts and July 15 for IB test scores. Authentic original records (transcripts) from the applicants' overseas school (or schools) must be sent directly to UC San Diego from the former institution.
International students are not eligible for federal or state financial aid. To be granted a visa, the students must prove sufficient funds to meet all expenses for studying in the U.S.
Academic requirements - ACT assessment plus the ACT writing test, SAT reasoning test with critical reading, mathematics and writing scores
Additional requirements - Unofficial transcripts, International Baccalaureate(IB) certification.
If you are completing your IB diploma or taking some courses, make sure to report your IB status in your application.
Language requirements - TOEFL, IELTS or PTE
English Writing scores on the SAT or ACT will also be reviewed.
However, language requirements for international students may vary by department.

Students applying to Music, Theatre & Dance, or Visual Arts may submit an optional portfolio/audition video when they apply to UC San Diego.
If you have taken IB and AP courses and given test for the same, then an official copy of your AP or IB scores should be sent to the university directly from the testing agency.
Language requirements for international candidates - The applicants must take the TOEFL or IELTS exam and have your scores reported to the UC San Diego Office of Admissions. A minimum score of 83 is required for the TOEFL, or a minimum score of 7 is required for the IELTS.
Personal insights questions play a huge role in UC San Diego admission. The applicants are asked to answer 4 out of 8 questions. The answers should reveal the most about the applicant.
Graduate admissions are largely centralized through the Office of Graduate Studies. However, the Rady School of Management, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and the School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) handle their own admissions.

The admission in the CSE graduate program is quite selective. Every year the department receives over 4000 applications. However, applicants with a strong academic background in computer science and engineering are offered admission.

UCSD is a competitive university that means you have to exceed minimum requirements to secure the admission.
