Howard University suits Indian applicants seeking a mid-priced private US research university with strong DC-area career networks and 36-month OPT pathways in STEM. Total two-year investment for an MS runs USD 88,000 to USD 118,000 (INR 76.6 lakh to INR 102.7 lakh) against a market median starting salary of USD 72,000 (INR 62.6 lakh), delivering a payback horizon in line with peer DC universities and improved by the MS in USA STEM OPT extension.
The university may not suit applicants requiring a top-100 QS World rank or targeting West Coast tech-hub proximity. Indian applicants with those priorities can consider Northeastern University or George Washington University as realistic alternatives with comparable OPT access.
