Tennessee Wesleyan University admissions are offered on a rolling basis. It does not provide priority deadlines for the courses. Thus, applicants are free to apply at any time during the year. During the Fall semester of 2018, the university accepted 453 applicants out of 756 with an acceptance rate of 60%. The number of students that actually enrolled at the university was 190. Total enrolment in the university during the same period was 951.

  • University only accepts TOEFL (PBT, IBT, CBT) as English proficiency proof. IELTS acceptance is not stated by the University.
  • SAT/ACT scores are required for freshmen 21 years of age and under.

Tennessee Wesleyan University International Admissions

The students who completed their education outside the U.S must have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services. Also, the university accepts an evaluation from Education Credentials Evaluators. International students are obligated for one year stay or a financial penalty may be charged.

Visa requirements

  • I-20 form will be issued by the university
  • Copy of passport, photographs, declaration of finances, bank statement
  • Applicant must pay SEVIS I-901 fee and the DS-160 visa insurance fee to DHS prior to applying for a visa.

Admission requirements - Transcripts, letter of recommendation, statement of intent, resume, test scores, English proficiency proof, financial documents.

Note*- A proof of insurance for each semester must be provided in case a student wants to opt out of mandatory coverage. The form is available on the official website.

International students are required to provide proof of successful completion of an approved ESL English Language program.

Tennessee Wesleyan University Undergraduate Admissions

Applicants must submit admission documents to Tennessee Wesleyan University office of admission. SAT and ACT codes are 1805 and 4014 respectively. Along with the undergraduate degrees, university offers adult degree programs such as – Management Excellence Program, Professional leadership in Criminal Justice Program etc.

Students with graduate equivalency diploma are considered for admission to University.

Tennessee Wesleyan University Graduate Admissions

Tennessee Wesleyan University offers graduate admission to the students in two categories: Master of Business Administration, Master of Occupational Therapy. The requirements for both the courses vary.

Master of Business Administration

Minimum GPA requirement – 2.75

2 Letters of recommendation must be provided from previous university or institution.

1 letter of recommendation must be provided from the previous work place.

No GMAT requirement is asked by the university.

Master of Occupational Therapy

Minimum GPA requirement – 3.0

GRE scores are to be sent directly from the institution. (GRE code – 4219)

Supporting Documents – Academic achievement evidence (optional), copy of passport, declaration of finances, health insurance.

All the applicants are evaluated by the admission office. The evaluation considers official transcripts (high school for freshmen, all post-secondary institutions for transfers, GED score reports), GPA, a college entrance exam for freshmen (either ACT or SAT), and class rank.

Students with lower scores may be considered for admission by the Director of admissions. These students are required to provide a letter requesting admission to the university, plan for achievements in the college, any job experience. These applicants are recommended to take the ACT test to complement national scores by the university. Letter of recommendation from the previous institute must also be provided by them.

Students who are admitted on a conditional basis may enroll in no more than 14 semester hours during the first term of attendance.
