Nearly 14,000 applications are received every year by the institute and only 8,000 of them are offered places. Clark Atlanta University International Student Admissions

The institute recommends a balanced college preparatory curriculum to include coursework as 4 units in English, 3 units in Mathematics, 3 units in Electives, 3 units Natural Science, 2 units in Social Science and 2 units in Foreign Language. However, applicants not having 2 units in foreign language shall also be considered for admission but will have to take a language course at CAU.

Admission Requirements: The following documents must be completed and sent to the Office of Admissions for applying to the university as an international student:

English Proficiency Test Scores

International students who have graduated from non-English speaking secondary schools must submit scores of English proficiency tests such as TOEFL/ IELTS in place of SAT or ACT. Visa Process for International Students

Once admission of the applicant is confirmed, an official from the Office of International Programs will get in touch with the student and take them through the further steps to acquire I-20 and start the visa process. The steps to be followed for international student visa to study in the USA are as follows:

  • Submit documents required for issuance of I-20 that include financial evidence and a copy of the biographical page of the applicant.
  • Once CAU receives the above mentioned documents, an I-20 package will be issued. The package will contain visa application details and invitation to the International Student Orientation.
  • Students must pay the required amount of SEVIS I-901 fee online.
  • Following this the students must arrange an appointment with the nearest US embassy/ Consulate.

Clark Atlanta University Undergraduate Admissions

For admission to CAU, applicants will be reviewed through a holistic approach where the high school GPA, standardized test scores of SAT/ ACT, leadership qualities, community activity, talents and skills and educational goals. The previous batch has an average high school GPA of 3.45, average SAT (combined) score of 1050 and average ACT (composite) score 20.

Clark Atlanta University Graduate Admissions

Graduate students at CAU are offered degree and non-degree certificates programs through 4 distinct schools: arts and sciences, business administration, education and social work. Applicants willing to apply to the institute to fulfill their dream of studying in the USA must complete the online application and pay the application fee. 

This will activate the admission process but before any decision for admission can be passed, students must submit the necessary documents to the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions.

The School of Business Administration accepts applications only in the fall for which deadline to apply is April 1. The average GMAT and GPA requirement to apply to CAU’s School of Business are 450-550 and 3.0 on 4.0, respectively.

The decision of the admission committee is determined by considering various aspects. Besides, academic records and standardized scores, qualities of leadership and community service as well as educational and career goals and its alignment with the University. All newly admitted international students will be invited to attend a compulsory New International Student Orientation.
