Auburn University International Admissions

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is responsible for the Auburn University admissions of international students. It welcomes students and scholars from all around the world.

International Undergraduate Admission Requirements

  • Transcripts from secondary school 
    • With a certified English translation, if the original transcript is in any language other than English.
  • Officially evaluated high school transcripts.
  • ACT and/or SAT scores.
  • A supporting bank letter.
  • If the applicants are currently attending a secondary school, they must submit 2 types of official transcripts: An official secondary school transcript translated into English by an official translation agency; the second copy evaluated by an independent credential evaluator.
  • A copy of the passport.
  • I-20 request form.
  • Certificate of finance form.
  • Financial documentation.
  • Deposit (amount listed in the conditional offer).

International Graduate Admission Requirements

  • A degree equivalent to a U.S. 4-year bachelor’s degree.
  • Official original language transcripts accompanied by certified English translations of each document.
  • GRE or GMAT scores.
  • Official copies of all test scores.
  • The official statement of finances to demonstrate the availability of adequate financial resources.
  • Students must return the completed documents and application fee to this office no later than 3 months before the beginning of the term.

English Language Requirements for International Students

For Undergraduate Students

All international undergraduate students need to provide proof of English proficiency by achieving at least one of the following:

  • TOEFL internet-based test (iBT) score of 79.
  • TOEFL computer-based test (cBT) score of 213.
  • TOEFL Written paper-based test (PBT) score of 550.
  • PTE score: 53.
  • IELTS score: a band score of 6.5 or better.

For Graduate Students

All international graduate students need to provide proof of English proficiency by achieving at least one of the following:

  • TOEFL PBT score: 550
  • TOEFL CBT score: 213
  • TOEFL iBT: 79 
    • (students must score a minimum of 16 on the reading, listening, speaking, and writing parts).
  • IELTS score: 6.5 overall band score.
