LBSIM Delhi has no management quota seat and no direct admission route. Every one of its 330 PGDM seats is filled on merit.
Three official admission routes exist at the institute. The general merit seat is open to all Indian candidates. The corporate sponsored seat is meant for employer-funded candidates. The third route covers foreign nationals, PIO and NRI applicants.
All three routes need a valid CAT, XAT or GMAT score. Shortlisted candidates then face an extempore round and a personal interview. Only the fee changes between routes, not the screening.
Latest Update: Applications for the PGDM 2027-29 batch are open. The early application fee of INR 1,500 applies till November 15, 2026. It rises to INR 2,200 after that date. forms.lbsim.ac.in

Does LBSIM Delhi Have a Management Quota?
No management quota exists at LBSIM Delhi. The institute runs a single merit pool for each PGDM programme. Seats are offered only after a composite score is worked out.
The composite score covers the entrance exam result and past academics. It also weighs work experience and the interview round. Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management is an AICTE-approved autonomous PGDM institute.
No state counselling body governs its seats. So no management share of seats exists. The seat count is fixed programme-wise for the 2027-29 batch.
| PGDM Programme | Seats | CAT Percentile as per Previous Trends |
|---|---|---|
| PGDM General | 180 | 85 |
| PGDM Financial Management | 60 | 80 |
| PGDM Research and Business Analytics | 60 | 75 |
| PGDM Artificial Intelligence and Data Science | 30 | 70 |
The institute states that the cut-off varies every year. So the percentile column is a trend indicator, not a published cut-off.
Example: A candidate scores 78 percentile in CAT 2026. That is a weak case for PGDM General. It reads far better for PGDM AI and Data Science.

Is Direct Admission in LBSIM Delhi Possible?
Direct admission is not offered. No seat can be booked without an entrance score. An interview call is also needed.
Several third-party consultancy websites advertise paid direct admission and donation seats here. Those offers do not match the rules published by the institute. Genuine fee payment goes only to the institute account.
Candidates can check any offer against three points. The seat must sit inside the sanctioned intake of 330. The applicant must hold a valid CAT, XAT or GMAT score. The receipt must carry the institute name, not an agent name.

LBSIM Delhi Admission Routes for PGDM 2027-29
The routes differ by applicant type and exam accepted.
| Route | Who It Is For | Entrance Score Needed |
|---|---|---|
| General merit seat | All Indian candidates | CAT 2026, XAT 2027 or GMAT |
| Corporate sponsored seat | Candidates funded by an employer | CAT 2026, XAT 2027 or GMAT |
| Foreign national, PIO and NRI | Overseas applicants | GMAT taken outside India |
General Merit Seat
This route carries the bulk of the intake. Eligibility is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Final-year students may also apply, subject to proof of that aggregate.
Corporate Sponsored Seat
A corporate sponsored seat is funded by the candidate's employer. The institute confirms that this quota exists.
Sponsored candidates still need a valid entrance score. The interview round stays the same.
The fee is the real difference. A sponsored seat costs INR 22.90 Lakh. A general seat costs INR 17.25 Lakh.
Example: A public sector bank officer holds a valid XAT 2027 score. The bank agrees to fund the two-year fee. That applicant can be considered against a corporate sponsored seat.
Foreign National, PIO and NRI Candidates
Overseas applicants follow a separate exam rule. Foreign students, PIO and NRI candidates must take the GMAT. The test centre must be outside India.
GMAT scores dated January 1, 2023 to January 31, 2027 stay valid. The rest of the process does not change.

Is Admission Possible Without CAT, XAT or GMAT?
No. The institute accepts only these three exams for PGDM admission. Scores from CMAT, MAT, NMAT or state-level tests are not considered.
This rule holds for every route, including the sponsored one. No centralised counselling portal handles PGDM admission here.
Applications are filed only on the LBSIM Delhi portal. The institute sends offers directly.
Selection Rounds That Replace a Quota Seat
No seat is set aside for discretionary entry. Screening does the sorting instead.
Shortlisting comes first. It uses the exam score, academics, work experience and application details.
| Round | What Is Assessed | Mode |
|---|---|---|
| Extempore | Clarity of thought on a topic given on the spot | Campus |
| Group Discussion | Argument quality and listening in a group | Campus |
| Personal Interview | Graduation subject, career goals, current affairs | Campus, or online for outstation candidates |
Students report a mixed faculty panel at the interview. It draws from marketing, finance, human resources and operations. Work experience of 0-3 years is accepted, freshers included.
LBSIM Delhi PGDM Fees 2027-29 for General and Sponsored Seats

What Students Say About the Selection Process?
Students consistently describe the interview as profile-led, not score-led. A strong CAT percentile alone does not carry a weak academic record.
Students also report that the extempore topic comes on the spot. Barely a minute is given to think.
Another recurring theme is the hostel. Students describe it as an off-campus facility in Dwarka. It does not sit inside the institute grounds.
