Chitkara University Punjab offers admission to engineering, computer applications, commerce, pharmacy, nursing, architecture and management courses, among other programmes. Selection differs by course. The available 2026 engineering instructions require JEE Main, while BCA and BCom applicants attend a personal interview. MBA selection includes an accepted entrance test, group discussion and interview.

Students preparing for admission in 2027 should distinguish the new application announcements from the detailed rules available for 2026. The passing-year limits, date-of-birth condition and final-result deadline quoted below belong to the earlier intake. They should not be carried forward by changing the year. The details below apply to the Punjab campus; Chitkara's Himachal Pradesh campus has its own programme and admission information.

Chitkara University Engineering Admission

BE eligibility and JEE Main

The 2026 engineering instructions accept either 60% overall in Class 12 or 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. JEE Main 2026 is also required for the admission process described in those instructions. Meeting the school-marks minimum therefore does not remove the entrance requirement.

The same instructions specify that applicants must have passed Class 12 in 2025 or be appearing in 2026. They also state a date of birth on or after October 1, 2004. These are intake-specific conditions. A student applying for 2027 needs the corresponding new rules before assessing eligibility from age or passing year.

Engineering branches and course choices

The Punjab campus lists regular Computer Science and Engineering, CSE in AI and ML with Microsoft, and CSE in AI and Future Technologies. Core options include Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics and Civil Engineering. Mechanical and Electrical programmes also have CSE-minor options in the available fee schedule.

Students should use the complete course name when filling in preferences. The three computing options have different academic fees, and the CSE minor is distinct from a full CSE degree. The offer should identify both the branch and the Punjab campus before the admission payment is completed.

Chitkara University BCA and BCom Admission

BCA eligibility and interview

The BCA programme accepts Class 12 students from any stream with at least 50% aggregate. A personal interview forms part of selection. A Science background is therefore not stated as compulsory for this particular programme, unlike the PCM requirement attached to engineering.

BCA prepares students for computer applications for students interested in programming, software and related subjects. Applicants should distinguish the regular BCA from the separately listed AI and ML option when selecting the form. The eligibility and fee details of one course should not be assumed to apply to the other solely because both use the BCA title.

BCom and the honours option

For BCom, students need 50% in Class 12 in any stream and must qualify the personal interview. The programme page provides a six-semester fee schedule with an additional seventh and eighth semester for the honours option. This helps students distinguish the initial undergraduate course from the additional year.

The university describes advanced-major study for students who obtain at least 75% in the first six semesters, including a dissertation under faculty guidance. This is a later academic progression condition, not the Class 12 admission minimum. Applicants should keep the two requirements separate when comparing the ordinary entry option with the fourth-year option.

Chitkara University Pharmacy and Nursing Admission

BPharm admission

The four-year BPharm programme requires at least 50% in Class 12, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as compulsory subjects. A personal interview is included in the stated selection process. Both the overall result and the subject combination therefore matter.

A Commerce or Humanities qualification that meets the percentage alone does not satisfy this science requirement. Applicants should enter their subject marks accurately and retain the original school records for verification. The pharmacy application should name BPharm rather than a different diploma or postgraduate pharmacy qualification.

BSc Nursing admission

The BSc Nursing programme requires Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a minimum aggregate of 45%. Selection includes a written test and personal interview. Students should prepare for both stages rather than assuming that submitting school marks completes selection.

Basic BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing are separately listed programmes. The Class 12 qualification described here concerns the basic degree. Applicants with an earlier nursing qualification must follow the conditions of the Post Basic programme instead of applying the school-entry rule to that course.

Chitkara University BArch Admission

BArch applicants must qualify NATA and satisfy one of the academic qualifications on the architecture programme page. The Class 12 qualification requires Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, together with an accepted additional subject, and at least 45% aggregate. Accepted additional subjects include Chemistry, Biology, a technical vocational subject, Computer Science, IT, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies.

The alternative qualification is a 10+3 diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and at least 45% aggregate. A qualifying NATA result is required for diploma applicants as well. Architecture applicants should not treat JEE-based engineering instructions as a substitute for the university's stated BArch selection rule.

The course lasts five years. Students considering both architecture and interior design should compare the qualification and application requirements carefully: a BArch application leads to a different professional degree from a design programme with a related subject area.

Chitkara University MBA Admission

Graduation requirements and final-year applicants

The 2026 MBA instructions require a recognised bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate. Final-year students could apply with at least 50% up to the previous examination, provided they completed the degree requirement by September 30, 2026. Students with a compartment were not eligible under those instructions.

Work experience is not compulsory, so an eligible fresh graduate can apply. The Data Science and AI specialisation also requires an accepted undergraduate background. Applicants should check that additional condition rather than relying only on the general MBA percentage.

Entrance test, group discussion and interview

Accepted tests in the available instructions include CAT, MAT, NMAT, XAT and CMAT. Students who have not taken one of these can use the university's test option. The selection process also includes a group discussion and personal interview.

The scorecard establishes the entrance result, while degree records establish academic eligibility. Both are needed where applicable. Shortlisting or an interview invitation does not waive the requirement to complete graduation within the permitted period. Final-year applicants should keep track of the university's deadline for submitting the completed result.

How to Apply for Chitkara University Punjab

  1. Choose the Punjab-campus programme on the official admissions website.
  2. Complete the application with personal details, school or degree records and the required entrance information.
  3. Submit the requested documents and application payment.
  4. Attend the course-specific test, counselling, group discussion or interview.
  5. Check the programme and payment deadline in the admission offer.
  6. Report for registration with original documents and the required copies.

The 2026 MBA application charge is ₹1,100. Selected MBA students are required to pay the admission amount within one week of the offer under those instructions; delayed payment can attract a fine. This payment deadline begins after an offer and is separate from the closing date for submitting an application.

Students applying for engineering should include their JEE Main details. BCA and BCom applicants need to follow the personal-interview communication, while nursing applicants have a written assessment as well. Keeping the registered email and mobile number active helps avoid missing these course-specific instructions.

Documents and Reporting Requirements

Documents and Reporting Requirements
Stage or applicant group Records to prepare
School-entry courses Class 10 certificate and Class 12 marksheet
Engineering JEE Main result along with school records
MBA Graduation records and accepted test score, where applicable
Registration Migration, character and medical-fitness certificates, identity proof and photographs
Special circumstances Category or study-gap documents when required

The reporting instructions ask for originals and two self-attested sets of documents. Originals are checked against the application, while copies become part of the university record. Names and dates should agree across the certificates; discrepancies are better resolved before the reporting day.

The university also states a laptop requirement for students. This is a study expense separate from the documents and academic fee. The joining communication provides the reporting date and any further instructions for the selected programme.
