BITS Pilani tuition for a four-year B.E. adds to ₹25,13,000 across eight regular semesters at the rates set for the 2026-27 entry batch. First-semester tuition is ₹2,91,500. Admission, hostel, mess advances and other charges are extra. Fees for new students joining in 2027-28 are awaited.

The 2026-27 schedules set one domestic semester tuition rate for regular first-degree courses, M.E., M.Pharm. and the Pilani MBA. PhD has a separate lower rate.

The summer fee applies only when a student registers for a summer term. An M.Sc. student later assigned a dual engineering degree may study for about five years and pay a second-degree admission fee. An eight-semester B.E. total does not cover that case.

Later-Year Tuition for the 2026 Entry Batch

The later-year rates below apply to students who joined in 2026. In particular, the 2027-28 rate is their second-year fee, not a new entrant fee.

The ₹25,13,000 total covers regular tuition for eight semesters. It excludes admission fees, hostel, mess, electricity, summer study and scholarship reductions.

Pilani Hostel, Mess and Electricity

The 2026-27 Pilani hostel charge for on-campus students was ₹36,000 each regular semester, or ₹72,000 across two regular semesters. A registered summer term had a further ₹18,000 hostel charge. BITS says hostel fees rise in later years, so ₹72,000 is not a fixed annual charge for the entire course.

Mess and electricity require a ₹10,000 advance each regular semester. BITS adjusts this against actual use.

BITS Pilani Scholarships and Fee Waivers

For 2026-27, eligible students among the top 500 BITSAT rank holders with annual family income up to ₹20 lakh could receive full tuition support. The award can continue for four years with at least 7.5 CGPA. Hostel and other charges remain separate. The 2027 terms are awaited.

Other merit and merit-cum-need awards cover 10%-100% of semester tuition. They are granted one semester at a time. Renewal depends on academic performance and, for need-based awards, family finances.

First-Semester Payment for 2026 Entrants

A first-degree student entering Pilani in 2026-27 and living in its hostel had ₹2,91,500 tuition, ₹64,100 admission fee, ₹36,000 hostel fee, ₹10,000 mess and electricity advance, ₹12,000 other advance and ₹3,000 caution deposit among the first-semester charges. Annual union and aid charges also applied. Advances are adjusted later.

The seat offer sets the immediate payment and deadline. Summer registration and Practice School have separate charges only when applicable.
