PES University has opened registration for 2027-28 admissions. BTech applicants need JEE Main 2027 or KCET 2027 scores and at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12. PESSAT is no longer used for BTech. Other courses use the PES Entrance Process, accepted external exams or government counselling, depending on the programme.

Registration opened on 3 September 2026. The BTech deadline is tentatively in June 2027, while other non-professional courses have a 30 July 2027 registration deadline.

BTech Eligibility and Seat Categories

BTech requires 60% in Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and a JEE Main or KCET score. The 2027 seats are divided into three categories:

Seat category Share of BTech seats Selection
KCET government quota 40% KCET rank through Karnataka government counselling
PESU merit quota 45% JEE Main or KCET rank through PES University counselling
Higher Fee Category / management 15% Contact the PES Admission Office; a JEE Main or KCET attempt is still required

For the 45% PESU merit seats, applicants can register with JEE Main, KCET or both. PES considers both options where selected and uses the best eligible JEE Main 2027 score. A KCET score used for these university merit seats carries the PESU JEE Main quota fee, not the government KCET fee.

Applicants must sign in again after the exam results and enter their JEE Main or KCET details by the university deadline. PES says it will reject a BTech application for merit consideration if the candidate fails to update the results in time. KCET government-quota applicants must also follow the Karnataka counselling process.

Lateral-entry BTech applicants need an eligible three-year engineering or technology diploma with at least 60%. Government seats use Karnataka DCET counselling; PES merit seats follow its separate entrance process.

Admission Rules for Other Courses

Marks and test requirements differ by course. Applicants using an accepted external score must still register with PES where required.

Course Minimum eligibility Selection or accepted exam
BCA 50% in Class 12; Mathematics compulsory PES Entrance Process
BBA and BCom variants 50% in Class 12 PES Entrance Process
BDes 50% in Class 12 or a three-year diploma; English required PES Entrance Process or UCEED

MCA Relevant computer degree with Mathematics at Class 12 and 50% in qualifying degree PES Entrance Process; Karnataka PGCET quota also available
MBBS NEET eligibility under current medical admission rules KEA counselling on NEET score; no direct PES allotment

For MBA, an accepted CAT or other test score does not remove the need to register with PES. The university says these candidates need not pay its application fee and receive additional points during its online interview. For the integrated law courses, CLAT candidates also follow the PES process and receive additional points.

MBBS admission for all seat categories follows KEA counselling and its separate calendar.

Application and Selection

BTech applicants register with JEE Main, KCET or both for PESU merit seats. The 2027 application fee is ₹1,200 for each score option selected.

For most other courses, the applicant completes registration, books a PES entrance slot, downloads the hall ticket and takes the online interview or entrance stage set for that course. PES says it shares the entrance result within three working days after the online interview. A selected candidate then receives payment and admission instructions by email.

Documents and Seat Confirmation

BTech candidates in the PESU merit category need their PES rank card and application form, Class 10 and 12 marks cards, transfer certificate, applicable migration certificate, identity documents, fee receipt and photographs. The document checklist asks for originals and two self-attested copy sets. KCET government-quota candidates also need their CET admission order.

PES checks the original documents before final admission. Selected students complete the payment and reporting requirements in their allotment notice. Document submission or seat surrender for early and first-round BTech offers is tentatively planned for July 2027.
