NTA has announced the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 exam dates as January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30, 2027, with January 31 as a buffer date.

The detailed JEE Main 2027 registration notification and information bulletin are awaited. Registration is expected to begin in October 2026.
The 2027 notification is expected to confirm the JEE Main 2027 registration date, application fee, eligibility, syllabus, exam pattern, correction window and other application details.
A scheduling concern has been reported over Maharashtra HSC practical exams and JEE Main 2027 Session 1. However, NTA has not announced any change in the JEE Main exam schedule.

Could JEE Main 2027 Exam Dates Change?

Reports suggest that Maharashtra HSC practicals, orals and internal assessments may be held from January 20 to February 7, 2027. Some of these dates could overlap with the JEE Main Session 1 schedule.

Students and parents have raised concerns about managing both exams. No revised JEE Main schedule has been announced by NTA so far, so students should follow the existing dates unless NTA issues a new notice.

JEE Main Exam Pattern Changes: 2020 to 2026

JEE Main 2027 Registration Date: When Will the Form Be Released?

The JEE Main 2027 registration date has not been officially announced by NTA yet. The Session 1 application form is expected to be released in October 2026, ahead of the January 2027 examination.

Will the JEE Main 2027 Marking Scheme Change?

The latest available pattern uses +4 marks for a correct answer.
An incorrect answer generally carries -1 mark under the applicable sections.
Numerical Value Questions also have negative-marking provisions under the current pattern.
NTA has not announced any change to the JEE Main 2027 marking scheme yet.
The final marking scheme will be confirmed in the JEE Main 2027 information bulletin.
Candidates should continue focusing on accuracy and avoid excessive guessing during practice tests.

Could the Number of Questions Change in JEE Main 2027?

The current Paper 1 structure has 75 questions carrying 300 marks.
If the existing structure continues, candidates will have 25 questions in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The paper currently includes MCQs and Numerical Value Questions.
NTA has not announced any increase or decrease in the number of questions for JEE Main 2027.
A change remains possible because NTA can revise the examination pattern for a new cycle.
Candidates should therefore practise with the current 75-question format while waiting for the 2027 information bulletin.

JEE Main 2027 Syllabus: What Should You Study Now?

Continue preparing Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics using the latest available NTA syllabus.
Use NCERT concepts as an important foundation for Chemistry, particularly for topics that require strong conceptual and factual understanding.
Focus on conceptual clarity, formula application and numerical problem-solving in Physics.
Practise mathematical concepts through regular problem-solving rather than relying only on theoretical study.
Solve JEE Main PYQs alongside syllabus preparation to understand question trends and application-based concepts.
Once NTA releases the 2027 syllabus, compare it with your existing preparation and identify any additions or deletions.

Will the JEE Main 2027 Syllabus Change?

NTA has not announced a major change to the JEE Main 2027 syllabus so far.
The latest officially available syllabus can be used as the working syllabus for JEE Main 2027 preparation.
Candidates should not assume that the 2027 syllabus will be exactly the same until NTA releases the updated document.
