Amity University Kolkata BTech CSE requires 50% in the Class 12 aggregate and 55% in Physics, Mathematics and an accepted third subject for non-sponsored admission. BBA requires 50% and BCom (Hons) 55%. MBA and MCA require both school and graduation qualifications. The 2027 application deadline is yet to be announced.

Amity Kolkata UG Eligibility

Non-sponsored course requirements

Non-sponsored course requirements
Programme Non-sponsored eligibility
BTech CSE Class 12 aggregate 50%; at least 55% in Physics, Mathematics and an approved third subject
BTech Biotechnology Class 12 aggregate 50%; at least 55% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology/Mathematics
BBA Class 12 with at least 50%
BCom (Hons) Class 12 with at least 55%
BA LLB (Hons) Class 12 with at least 50%
BCA Class 12 aggregate 50% with Mathematics or an accepted computing subject

The requirements above apply to the non-sponsored category. Sponsored admission has separate conditions where the course allows it. An applicant should keep the admission category consistent in the form because both eligibility and fees can change with that category.

BTech CSE and Biotechnology

Two separate marks calculations

Biotechnology requires 50% in the aggregate and 55% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Biotechnology or Mathematics. The sponsored engineering category allows a five-percentage-point relaxation under the course rules.

For CSE, English is included in the four-subject aggregate used for the 50% condition. The second calculation uses Physics, Mathematics and the accepted third subject for the 55% condition. Both requirements must be met for non-sponsored admission.

Biotechnology accepts Biology, Biotechnology or Mathematics with Physics and Chemistry. This allows the relevant Biology background as well as the Mathematics background specified by the course. The applicant must still meet the aggregate and three-subject minimums.

The five-percentage-point sponsored relaxation is a course rule for the named engineering programmes. It should not be applied automatically to all degrees at Amity Kolkata. The programme's admission category also determines the fee quoted in the offer.

BBA, BCom, BCA and Law

Business, commerce and computer applications

BCA applicants need 50% and Mathematics or an accepted computing subject. The school marksheet must show the required subject.

BBA and BCom have different minimum marks. A Class 12 result of 50% meets the stated BBA minimum and the sponsored BCom minimum, but it is below the 55% required for non-sponsored BCom. The chosen category therefore matters when applying to commerce.

BCA requires a Mathematics or accepted computing subject alongside the 50% aggregate. The university will need the school marksheet to establish this subject requirement. BA LLB is a five-year integrated law programme with its own 50% Class 12 condition.

Pharmacy and Psychology Admission at Amity Kolkata

Bachelor of Pharmacy

The BPharm course lasts four years. The non-sponsored category requires Class 12 with PCM or PCB and at least 60%; the sponsored minimum is 55%. The current course page marks admission as closed, so the qualification details should be checked again when the next intake opens.

Pharmacy therefore has a different marks threshold from the engineering and general undergraduate courses above. Students should also select BPharm specifically, since a pharmacy diploma or postgraduate pharmacy qualification has a different entry option.

Clinical Psychology course options

The psychology programme list distinguishes a three-year BSc Clinical Psychology from a four-year honours or honours-with-research version. These entries require 55% in Class 12, calculated using English and three academic subjects under the stated exclusions. Students must have passed all Class 12 subjects.

The university separately lists a four-year Bachelor in Clinical Psychology for applicants from the Science stream and identifies it as RCI-approved. Applicants should match the full degree title and institute in the offer; similarly named psychology courses should not be treated as the same qualification.

Understanding Subject Eligibility

Overall marks and required subjects

For CSE, the overall aggregate and the required three-subject aggregate are separate checks. A student could satisfy the first while falling below the second. For example, a strong English mark can raise the four-subject aggregate, but it does not change the marks obtained in Physics, Mathematics and the accepted third subject.

The same care is needed for BCA and MCA. The marksheet must show the Mathematics or computing subject accepted by the course. Applicants should use the subject name as printed on the certificate and obtain confirmation if a differently named school subject is being offered as an equivalent.

Choosing an admission category

The sponsored option has reduced eligibility in the courses where that provision is expressly available and a different fee arrangement. It is an admission category, not a scholarship. Applicants should compare the qualifying rule and the payment terms together before choosing it.

For example, the BCom non-sponsored requirement is 55%, while the stated sponsored requirement is 50%. The engineering relaxation is given under its own course conditions. Neither rule should be used to reduce the minimum for a programme whose page does not provide the same concession.

MBA and MCA Admission

School and graduation requirements

School and graduation requirements
Programme Class 12 condition Graduation condition
MBA At least 50% At least 50% in graduation
MCA At least 50% BCA with 50%, or graduation with 50% and Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation

MBA eligibility uses marks from two stages of study. A graduation result of 50% does not remove the separate requirement of 50% in Class 12. Both school and degree marksheets form part of the application.

MCA has two qualification groups. BCA graduates need 50% in their degree. Graduates from other subjects need 50% and Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level. Both groups must also meet the 50% Class 12 condition.

After the application is reviewed, the admission account gives the assessment or interview instructions applicable to the course. Applicants need to complete those steps and provide any pending academic results within the time allowed in their offer.

How to Apply

  1. Choose Kolkata and the course through the Amity Kolkata course page.
  2. Register and enter personal details, subjects and marks.
  3. Upload documents and pay the application fee.
  4. Complete the assessment or interview requested for the course.
  5. After selection, pay by the offer deadline and submit original records.

Amity has several campuses, so Kolkata should be selected in the application. The programme, specialisation and admission category need to match the course sought. The registered contact details are used for assessment, selection and payment communication.

Students should enter subject-wise marks where requested and upload clear academic records. The university checks the qualifications against the course requirements. An offer may also state documents that are still due before admission is confirmed.

Selection, Registration and Course Changes

Completing the admission process

The university's admission regulations distinguish the selection offer, fee payment, online profile entry and registration. Students must join on the date specified in the admission letter. Completing the application form alone does not complete these later stages.

The offer should be read for the programme, category, documents and reporting instructions. A student awaiting an academic result should follow the conditions attached to the provisional offer. For postgraduate study, the graduation transcript is needed in addition to school records, especially where both stages have a minimum-marks requirement.

Changing a course or campus

An offer for one course is not an automatic entitlement to another course. A change requires the university's approval and satisfaction of the new programme's eligibility. Transfers between Kolkata and another Amity campus also require the applicable equivalence approval.

Students considering a change should first establish whether the new course accepts their qualification and subjects. A payment made against the earlier programme should not be assumed to transfer automatically. The revised admission communication must identify the programme and fee arrangement finally approved.

Documents and Admission Payments

Students need Class 10 and Class 12 records, identity proof and photographs. PG applicants also need degree marksheets. BCA and non-BCA applicants to MCA must provide records of the required Mathematics or computing subjects.

First-year non-sponsored semester fees are ₹1,34,500 for CSE, ₹1,22,500 for BBA, ₹2,44,500 for MBA and ₹94,000 for MCA. Hostel is separate. Eligible Amity alumni from the 2024, 2025 and 2026 batches can apply for the 10% Amity Advantage concession.

The Amity Advantage concession is for eligible alumni from the named batches pursuing higher education at Kolkata. Previous Amity qualification records support the claim. The admission offer or concession approval should establish the benefit granted.

Amity Kolkata Admission Scholarships

The 2026 undergraduate merit scheme offers 100% at 93% or above, 50% at 88%–92.99%, and 25% at 70%–87.99%. It covers eligible CBSE, ISC and state-board students who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026. The scholarship percentage uses English and three academic subjects, subject to the exclusions in the policy.

The deadline stated for that scheme was 5 September 2026. Awards were limited and offered on a first-come basis. The benefit covers the first year, with later continuation governed by renewal rules. These earlier scholarship terms do not establish a deadline or award for the 2027 intake.

Amity Kolkata Admission FAQs

Can a BBA applicant use the same marks rule for BCom?

BBA's stated minimum is 50%, while non-sponsored BCom requires 55%. An applicant should check the intended course and category rather than rely on a common business-school percentage.

Does 50% in graduation alone make an applicant eligible for MBA?

The listed Kolkata MBA requirement also includes 50% in Class 12. Both academic stages need to satisfy the rule, followed by the applicable assessment and interview instructions.

Can a graduate from a non-BCA course apply for MCA?

The stated option accepts graduation with 50% and Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level, together with the Class 12 minimum. The transcript should establish that Mathematics requirement. BCA graduates have the separately listed qualification option.

Are the 2026 scholarship terms a promise for the next intake?

No. The eligible passing years, marks slabs and September 2026 deadline belong to that scheme. A 2027 applicant needs the terms announced for the new cycle before relying on a scholarship in the fee budget.
