LM Thapar School of Management (LMTSM), a constituent of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, officially launched its landmark 5-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM), welcoming its founding cohort (2026–2031) through an intensive four-day orientation program at its Derabassi campus.

Designed for ambitious high-school graduates, this five-year integrated pathway blends foundational learning in social sciences, humanities, quantitative techniques, and business fundamentals with advanced management education. Fully aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the IPM curriculum designed on the lines of IPM program at top IIM institutions emphasizes multidisciplinary coursework, flexible academic progression, skill-based training, and holistic leadership development.

Key Highlights of the IPM Program includes early integration of data analytics, AI tools, sustainability, and experiential learning. The program would equip students with the both intellectual grounding and practical exposure required to excel in a rapidly evolving global economy as well as human values, corporate sustainability, and value-based business principles.

The inaugural cohort transitioned from school to business school through a structured, four-day induction schedule designed to foster academic, personal, and professional growth. Day 1 involved inauguration and campus discovery and day began with ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony. The session featured addresses by senior leadership and Chief Guest Mr. Nishit Jain, Senior Special Advisor (Asia) at EFMD. Chief Guest Mr. Nishit Jain encouraged students to align their personal career ambitions with national development goals, "Think beyond the present, set ambitious goals, and envision your contribution towards India’s growth by 2047. While building your careers and shaping your futures, never forget to enjoy the journey and, importantly, smile more."

Day 2 presented academic ecosystem to incoming students through workshops on “School to B-School: Learn, Adapt, Grow,” “Learning the LMTSM Way,” and “Leading with a Growth Mindset,” culminating in a guided city tour of Rock Garden, Chandigarh. Day 3 featured skill building and placement readiness modules covering, “Innovation & Entrepreneurship,” personal finance (“Investment Strategies for All Stages of Life”), international exchange opportunities, and career placement readiness, capped off with a Cultural Eve. Day 4 focused on ethics, values & community with sessions on “Human Values in the AI Era,” an interactive “Seniors Unplugged: Ask & Learn” panel, and the closing ceremony.

Welcoming the incoming batch and parents, Prof. D P Goyal, Director of LMTSM, assured families of a nurturing environment and highlighted the transformational nature of college life, stating, "The greater freedom associated with moving beyond school brings greater responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
