CEAP 2026 Choice Filling and Seat Allotment Process

GATE category choice filling is expected in July 2026 and CEETA PG category choice filling is expected in August 2026, based on 2025 trends. Both streams follow the same multi-step allotment process:

1. Merit list publication: Anna University releases a provisional rank list for each category. A grievance redressal window follows so students can flag errors before the final merit list is confirmed.

4. Accept, float, or withdraw: Select Accept to confirm the allotted seat. Select Float to retain eligibility for a higher-preference seat in the next round. Select Withdraw to exit the counselling process entirely.
5. Upward movement round (GATE category): Students who chose Float are reconsidered for vacated seats in higher-ranked choices. A final provisional allotment is then issued.
6. SC to SCA counselling round: A dedicated round allows SC (Scheduled Caste) seats to be reallocated to SCA (Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar) category where eligible students are available.

After Seat Allotment: Reporting and Joining
