He orders his crew, Captain Omega, Lieutenant Iota, and Sergeant Oop, who have landed in an Earth library, to explore and report.

The crew find a book but do not know what it is. On Oop's advice, they eat a corner of it and then realise it is meant for the eyes. It turns out to be a book of Mother Goose nursery rhymes. When they show it to Think-Tank, he insists on reading it himself and misunderstands every rhyme.
How the Book Saves the Earth
Think-Tank reads the picture of Humpty Dumpty as a captured Martian ruler. He reads the rhyme about blackbirds baked in a pie as a plan to attack Mars, and the cow jumping over the moon as a threat to knock the Martians off their moons.
