DCE Kerala provides financial assistance and tuition fee waivers in the form of scholarships to a bunch of meritorious candidates belonging to different classes and social backgrounds of Kerala state. There are presently more than 15 scholarships offered by the government which aim to facilitate education among the less fortunate classes of students and are available for meritorious students pursuing higher secondary education, degree, diploma, research etc at graduation, postgraduation and doctorate level from minority backgrounds like Muslim Girls, Students with Disabilities, etc.

DCE Kerala Scholarship 2021: Latest Updates

DCE Kerala will open the online registration portal for both fresh and renewal applications from July 2021. Eligible candidates will be required to visit the official website of DCE Kerala and apply before October 2021.

DCE Kerala Scholarship 2021: How to Apply?

Candidates can apply online either visiting the scholarship portal of the Department of Collegiate Education and the Minority Welfare Scholarship Portal. Follow the steps below to apply for the scholarships offered by DCE Kerala:

Visit the official website of DCE Kerala- http://www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in/dce/he_ma/he_maindx.php?ser=135.
Click on the ‘Online Registration’ on the left side of the webpage.
Provide an active email account and password and enter your basic information to complete the registration process. Login credentials will be generated.
Login using the Registration ID, Password and Date of Birth.
Click on your preferred scholarship portal by clicking on the name of the scholarship.
If you are a fresh applicant click on "apply online" and if you want to renew your application click on the "renewal" button.
Then, you have to enter your details and educational background. Make sure to enter all this important information correctly.
The DCE website will provide you with detailed guidelines. Read all the guidelines sincerely.
Choose the scholarship that you are applying to and fill in the details wanted.
Revise all the information that you have provided in the application form to make sure everything is correct and then submit the application.
Print the application form and submit it to the specific institution.

After successful submission of the scholarship application form, candidates can check their application status on the official website of DCE Kerala. Click on the "Candidate login" option on the left-hand side of the webpage and enter your registration ID and password to view your status.

DCE Kerala Scholarship 2021: Eligibility Criteria

Following is the eligibility criteria of the scholarships offered by DCE Kerala:

Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship

Candidates must be in the first year of their UG or PG degree in govt/aided college or university departments.
Candidates should belong to BPL family.
Candidates must have scored at least 50% marks in qualifying examinations.

Muslim Nadar Girls Scholarships

Candidate must be a first year girl candidate of HSC/ VHSC and undergraduate course.
Candidates must be enrolled in govt/aided Arts and Science college.
Candidates should belong to the forward BPL family and backward community.

Central Sector Scholarship

Candidates must have scored 80 percentile or more in 10+2.
Candidates must be pursuing a regular undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a recognized institute.
The annual income of the family shall not exceed INR 8,00,000.

Blind/ PH Scholarship

Blind/ PH/ Deaf candidates studying in govt/aided Arts and Science colleges, Music colleges are eligible.
Candidates studying in govt/aided Higher Secondary/ Vocational Higher Secondary Schools are also eligible.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities

Candidates must be a first year student of 10+2/ UG/ PG/ PhD levels of education.
Candidates enrolled in 11th/ Technical/ Vocational courses of ITI/ITC centres affiliated to NCVT are also eligible.
Candidates must belong to Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/ Buddhists/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis).
Candidates must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in qualifying examinations.
Candidates must not be availing any other scholarship.
The annual income of the family must be less than INR 2 Lakhs.

Sanskrit Scholarship

Candidates must be pursuing a UG or PG degree.
The first preference of the candidate should be Sanskrit.

State Merit Scholarship

Candidates must be in the first year of their UG or PG degree in govt/aided college or university departments.
Candidates must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in qualifying examinations.
The annual income of the family must be less than INR 1 Lakh.

District Merit Scholarship

Candidates must be pursuing Higher Secondary/ VHSC/ ITI/ Polytechnic courses.
Candidates must have scored A+ grade in all subjects in SSLC examinations.

Music Fine Arts Scholarship

Candidates must be studying in a government music/fine arts college.

Hindi Scholarship

Candidates must be enrolled in a UG or PG degree.
Candidates with Hindi as a compulsory subject in BEd/ MEd/ MA/ MPhil/ Phd are eligible.

Merit Scholarships to the Children of School Teachers

Candidate should be a first year student of HSC/ VHSC/ undergraduate course in govt/ aided Arts and Science college.
Candidates must be the son/daughter of primary/ secondary school teachers.

ASPIRE Scholarship

Candidates must be pursuing PG (second year)/ M.Phil/ PhD degree from a govt/ aided college.

Mother Teresa Scholarship

Candidates must belong to Minority Community (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains and Buddhists).
Candidates must be pursuing nursing diploma/paramedical courses.
The annual family income of the candidate must be less than INR 8 Lakhs.

APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship

Candidates must belong to Minority Community (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains and Buddhists).
Candidates must be studying in a govt/aided polytechnic merit seat.
The annual family income of the candidate must be less than INR 8 Lakhs.

DCE Kerala Scholarship 2021 FAQs

Ques. Where to find the registration ID number?

Ans. Your registration ID number will be provided to you on the website and your email once you have registered on the website and it will help you to re-login to your application conveniently.

Ques. Can I edit the DCE Scholarship application form if I entered the wrong information by mistake and saved the application form?

Ans. Yes, you can easily edit your application form after temporarily saving it through the "edit" option provided in the portal. However, it is not possible to edit the application once it is submitted to your institution and has been verified.

Ques. I cannot find the name of my school/ college/ institution in the dropdown menu of the application form. What to do?

Ans. Contact your institution regarding this. You may need to contact the scholarship office of your college or university as they can help you to resolve this issue.

Ques. What should I do if I found some mistakes in the application after already sending it to the institution?

Ans. You can contact the institution and inform them about your mistakes. You may be allowed to edit your form if they retreat the application.

Ques. How many scholarships can I apply for?

Ans. You can apply for any of the scholarships if you fulfill the specific eligibility criteria for each of the scholarships. However, if you get selected for more than one scholarship then you have to choose only one out of them.
