Jammu and Kashmir have taken the initiative to help students with finance and started scholarship programs run by the state and the central government. There are a total of 5 highly active scholarships available in the Jammu and Kashmir state presently.
A total of 5000 scholarships will be awarded for students pursuing courses in General Degree. These scholarships usually include reimbursement of tuition fees, maintenance fees and other important allowances.

Application Process
- Step 1- Visit the official page for scholarships. https://scholarships.gov.in/
- Step 2- On the Homepage, go to the new registration.
- Step 3- A list of the requirements and details is provided. please go through the instructions provided here, accept the terms, and continue further.
- Step 4- After registering yourself by providing the required details. A login ID and password are sent to the registered mobile number.
- Step 5- login to the portal through the log-in with the provided ID and Password through the registered number.
- Step 6- Now, go to the homepage and select the type of scholarship you want to apply for. central, UGC\AICTE, or state scheme.
- Step 7- Fill in the required details and upload the needed documents.
- Step 8- Submit the application form.

Jammu and Kashmir Scholarship 2021: Eligibility Criteria
Following are the eligibility criteria for students under the various scholarship schemes:
Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSS)
- The scholarship is applicable for students who have completed their class 12 examination from the J&K board or CBSE affiliated schools in Jammu and Kashmir.
- The student must be pursuing a diploma or courses from the list of colleges elected by the board to avail of the scholarship.
- The annual income of the student’s family must be below 8 lakh rupees. (8,00,000rs).
Post Matric Scholarship for SC/OBC/EBC/PC/DNT Students, J&K
- The students belonging to the mentioned sections i.e., SC/OBC/EBC/PC or DNT category can avail of this scholarship.
- The candidate must opt for a post-matriculation level education within or outside the state at a recognized institution.
- The annual income of the student’s family must be below 1 Lakh rupees (1,00,000rs) (for OBC, EBC, and PC candidates) and 2.5 Lakh rupees (2,50,000 rs) (for SC and DNTs candidates).
KEI High school Scholarship Program (HSSP)
- Students completing their 9th grade in school can opt for this scholarship.
- They must have obtained a score of more than 75% of the total marks in 8th-grade examinations conducted by DIET.
- The annual student's family income must be below INR 3 Lakh. (3,00,000rs) to avail of the scholarship.
KEI Post Graduate Scholarship Program (PGP)
- The students in the first semester only (Kashmir University) and the first or second semester only (Central University, IUST, and SKUAST) of the MA/MSc/MCom/MTech course can apply for this scholarship.
- Students pursuing integrated courses like BBA-MBA, LLB-LLM or BCA-MCA can also apply for the scholarship.
- The annual income of the family must be below 3 Lakh.INR (3,00,000rs)

Combined Counselling Board (CCB) Scholarship
- The students pursuing a college/university level (pursuing diploma level, degree level, or postgraduate level courses) can avail of this scholarship.
- They must have qualified for the last qualifying examination with a minimum of 40% to 50% of the total marks.
- After accepting the application form by CCB Scholarship Department, students will be invited for online counseling by CCB.
- Counseling will be started on or after 01-JUNE - 2021. Students have to download their Counselling Letter and colleges list on or after 01 - JUNE - 2021.
- Login into the official portal and check for any notifications. The CBB sends a notification of selection and further details of counseling.
