Nationwide Education and Scholarships Test (NEST) was started on 11th March 2003 with a prime motto to provide students with a gift to pursue hassle-free education without any financial constraints. The scholarship is a collaborative effort of The Students Unity Foundation of India and Sri Manji's Event Management Center- International to encourage, help and guide students in their educational career. The authority conducts NEST SCHOLARSHIP TEST twice a year on the last Sunday of January and July and awards a decent amount of scholarships to the deserved candidates based on the merit list. The scholarship is offered to the students pursuing higher school education and graduates of engineering, science, and medical science streams.
NEST Scholarship Test is conducted in two categories: NEST Junior and NEST Senior, subdivided into I and II. As per the revised scheme, the scholarship is also offered to students of class 7th and 8th and postgraduate students pursuing science, medical and engineering courses. Applications for the above will start from January 2021. Deserved candidates can get a handsome amount of scholarships ranging from 25000/- to 100000/- depending upon the category.
Generally, the exam is conducted on the last Sunday of January and July. Candidates are selected based on the merit list in the exam, and the results are announced on the official website. The exam comprises MCQs with a weightage of 1mark per question. No negative marking included. Candidates need to answer the question in a span of 2 hours.

NEST Scholarship Eligibility
The eligibility criteria to apply for Nationwide Education & Scholarship Test(NEST) are given below.
- NEST JUNIOR -I: Candidates studying or having qualified class 9th or 10th are eligible to apply.
- NEST JUNIOR - II: Candidates studying or having qualified class 11th or 12th are eligible to apply.
- NEST SENIOR - I:
- Students who are currently studying in 12th in Science stream.
- Final year students of Diploma in Engineering, and
- Students studying in 1st and 2nd-year degree courses in Science, Engineering, and Medical Science(MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, BDS, BUMS), BCA & BSc(all).
- NEST SENIOR - II: Students studying in 3rd and 4th-year degree courses in Science, Engineering, and Medical Science( MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, BDS, BUMS), BCA & B.Sc (only IT and Comp).
NEST Scholarship Benefits
NEST Scholarship can provide an essential benefit to the students to pursue their education without any tensions and financial constraints.

- Topper of NEST JUNIOR -1 will be awarded a scholarship of 40,000/ by the official authority.
- The topper of NEST JUNIOR -2 will get Rs 50,000/- by the authorities as a scholarship.
- At least ten rankers of the NEST JUNIOR -1 and NEST JUNIOR -2 will get Rs 25,000/- and Rs 30,000/- respectively as scholarships by the authorities.
- Rs 75,000/- will be offered as a scholarship to the Topper of NEST SENIOR-1.
- Rs 1, 00,000/- will be provided to the Topper of Senior 2 by the authorities as a scholarship.
Further, the authority also offers excellent benefits to candidates applying in a group.
- If ten students apply for NEST, one student (introducer) is fully exempted from paying the application fee.
- If a candidate introduces only five students, he /she will get half of the registration fee back into a/c.
- SEMCI INDIA offers incentives @ 50rs / candidate to those who introduce eligible candidates to NEST.
How to apply for the NEST Scholarship?
Application Process
- To apply for the test, the applicants must register themselves by submitting their details on the official website. Here the applicants need to create a Username and password. Save the username and password as it will be required further.
- Visit the official website of NEST. https://www.nest.net.in/
- Click on the Application Form option, which is available on the top of the Homepage, and click on Apply Online.
- Please go through the information carefully and click on "Now Proceed for Registration."
- Now select the exam category you want to appear in and fill in all the details asked, such as name, dob, communication address, educational information, etc.
- Upload the latest passport size photograph( JPE, JPEG, GIF, TIF, the photograph should not be more than 100kb)
- Accept the Terms & Conditions after clearly reading the instructions and enter the captcha given.
- Do cross-check the details submitted for corrections and click on proceed for payment.
- After filling in the details, candidates need to pay a small amount of application fee. Details of the application fee are given below.
Candidates who wish to apply through offline mode have to follow the following steps.
Please ensure that the payment of the application fee is made before filling the form.
- Log in to the official website
- Download the relevant application form and take a print of it.
- Now fill in all the required details needed and attach the latest photograph in the space provided.
- Please take a photo or scan the application form and mail it to info@nest.net.in
- Pay the application fee through NEFT or INSTANT PAY to the bank details given on the official website and enter the transaction id/no on the application form.
- Admit cards to appear in the exam will be mailed to the registered mail id or downloaded through the official website.

Documents Required
A scanned copy of the latest photograph (not more than six months) is required while filling the application form. However, other documents containing communication details, educational details, etc., should be kept aside to cross-check the details.
