The e-Grantz scholarship is a web-based grants distribution system for the students belonging to the reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, OEC, and other economic and socially backward classes). The scholarship is aimed at providing financial aid to the candidates based on their categories and academic qualifications. This is an advanced platform wherein the students can apply for the scholarship scheme within a week from taking admission in any registered college under the scholarship. The scholarship is offered through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
The scholarship program is directly run by the government of Kerala for the centralized expedition of the Scholarship schemes and its offering to the students within the state. Scholarship schemes offer benefits to the students to apply for post matriculation courses.
Over the years, e-Grantz has benefited more than 3 lakh students studying across 3000+ institutions imparting education in Kerala. The site allows the institution to avail the scholarship opportunity for a candidate on his or her behalf. This unique initiative has been able to reach the deserving candidates so that we can continue with higher education.
e-Grantz Scholarship Important Dates
The e-Grantz scholarship scheme is offered once a year. It is directly paid to the institution’s account. Any candidate falling under the ability criteria can apply within a week of the admission process in the registered colleges under the scholarship scheme. This typhoid and the MS charges are sanctioned and credited to the student’s bank account directly.
The last date for application for the scholarship scheme has passed on February 28, 2021. For the next academic session, the dates will be updated shortly and available on the official portal (http://www.e-grantz.kerala.gov.in/)

There are certain specific eligibility criteria to be satisfied to avail of the scholarship scheme. The detailed chart about the eligibility is as under. e-Grantz Scholarship Benefits
The e-Grantz scholarship was initiated to provide financial help to the students and candidates who cannot refer to pay for higher education and continuous study. The benefits of the scholarship scheme are as follows:
- For candidates pursuing polytechnic courses, the day scholars are to get INR 100. The hostellers get an amount of INR 150.
- A scholarship amount of INR 160 is allotted to the students pursuing 10th and 12th standard courses for other backward class candidates.
- For students pursuing post-graduation and other professional courses, a scholarship award of INR 200 and INR 250 for hostellers is provided.
- For scheduled caste and OEC candidates, an amount of INR 1500 for pursuing professional courses and residing on their own due to scarce hostel facilities. A stipend amount of INR 750 is also provided to call students who reside above 8 kilometers from the college. The stipend of INR 630 is provided to students who reside within 8 kilometers of their Institute.
How to apply for the e-Grantz Scholarship?
Application Process
Application procedure to apply for the e-Grantz scholarship program is very easy through the online portal. Here is your step-wise guide to fill up the application form and apply.
- Visit the official e-Grantz portal (http://www.e-grantz.kerala.gov.in/)
- Click on the 'One Time Registration' button at the bottom.
- The candidate must have an Adhar number and enter your name as per the Aadhar card and click on 'Validate Aadhar'.
- Fill up the details such as your email id, password, date of birth, and mobile number.
- Click on register and proceed.
- After registration, the candidate has to login into the portal using the email id and the password.
- After logging in to the portal, basic details such as caste certificate, domicile certificate, etc.
- After logging in to the portal, to apply for the scholarship, follow the following steps:
- Apply on 'Scholarships-post matric'.
- A list of all the scholarships will be displayed for which the student will be eligible.
- Select a scholarship program in which you are interested and proceed to start the application process.
- Fill in all the required details very carefully and attached documents that are asked to be uploaded.
- Finally, click on 'Submit’.
The applicants can apply for the Akshaya e centers’ scholarship. The printout of the application form is to be submitted along with the supporting documents such as the caste certificate domicile certificate and mark sheet to the head of the institution where the admission of the candidate is being carried out.
